Liberals in the United States have been losing political debates to conservatives for a quarter century. In order to start winning again, liberals must answer two simple questions: what is conservatism, and what is wrong with it? As it happens, the answers to these questions are also simple:


Q: What is conservatism?
A: Conservatism is the domination of society by an aristocracy.
Q: What is wrong with conservatism?
A: Conservatism is incompatible with democracy, prosperity, and civilization in general. It is a destructive system of inequality and prejudice that is founded on deception and has no place in the modern world.

The domination of a society by an aristocracy is called an oligarchy, not conservatism. Conservatism is limited government and maximum freedom. Sound money and a sound money system.

Here is an example of conservatism. Judging by your avatar your a homsexual, or you like homesexual people. Either way, its not my thing, but who am I to use the government enforce my beliefs on you? What your used to is neocon mentality, which is fascism at its finest.

whats in contradiction with freedom and prosperty is liberalism, and more importantly the mentality that the strong must take care of the weak. That a man that works 55 hours a week should not be entitled to better life then someone that doesnt want to work at all. Capitalism is the answer (we are not living in capitalism) but it should be controlled by the government. Take our current crisis, which is a crisis of wealth concentration. If our government was functioning then we would be structing our taxes around where the money in the money supply is. Then the funds can be used by the government to fund infastructure, the safety net, and innovation.

Conservatives only became conservative because the left kept on drifting or "progressing" farther and farther left.

Conservatives are generally classical liberals, conservatives embrace the founding fathers ideas - progressives don't, progressives want to write the rules and recreate standards as they "progress."
