WHAT COMES NEXT?

Remember, defeating Iraq all the way up to the infamous "Mission Accomplished" only cost a few billion dollars. It was what came next that cost three trillion, the lives of thousands of Americans, the maiming of tens of thousands more and the destruction of much of our military. Not to mention the cost to the hundreds of thousands of Christians and the women that live or lived in Iraq.

The Bush tax cuts added a small bump to our economy. Then it left us trillions in debt. Republicans simply passed out of few bucks for people to spend and did nothing to actually grow the economy. No infrastructure was built up. Nothing that looked towards the future. Just a quick money bump.

Defunding the EPA is not a serious policy. So we use up resources and end up with dirty air and dirty water. How is that a "plan".

Even the Christian Science Monitor points out that Republican nominee's scams will leave us many trillions further in debt. Because "cut taxes" and nothing else is not a serious policy.

Anyone notice that there is no debate on this board between Republicans and anyone else? Democrats debate each other as well as the Independents. Republicans dutifully repeat talking points and call names. Try to get them to discuss economic policy or explain what happens after we bomb Iran. You can't. They simply don't think that far ahead.

And look at what they are running on now. Abortion? How does this "debate" improve the country? Gay rights? Most right wingers say they don't even know any gays. Health Care is the number one cause of bankruptcy. What is their health care plan? Deregulate so it's even worse? They can't explain how that works. Some even say cross state lines so we can make sure no one can regulate health care. Is that a serious plan? Cause more bankruptcies?

Their entire campaign is reduced to attacking Obama or trying to take credit for his successes (getting Bin Laden and the auto industry).

I'm not attacking them or calling them names. I'm simply pointing out these "facts".

So, where is the debate? To borrow a famous Bush line, "Bring it on!"
are you going to ask all these Questions and then disappear when you get asked Questions like you do in so many of your other threads?.....

for instance......
Anyone notice that there is no debate on this board between Republicans and anyone else
?
are you serious?......or is this just yet ANOTHER statement you cant back up?....

He never sticks around once the debate begins. His only interest is to sling mud then run away before he has to eat his words.

Specifics of what?

You must be blind, or your hackery is blurring your vision. There is debate here between Republicans/Conservatives/NeoCons/TeaParty on a daily basis. With 4 candidates we're always going back and forth arguing with each other about the pros and cons of each. It's you libs who aren't having a 'debate', you're kinda stuck with the incumbent and his 50% disapproval rating.

And even the CSM has to admit that ONE Republican candidate would lower the debt and deficit, WITHOUT RAISING TAXES...

There is a debate on a daily bases? About what? Bomb Iran is not serious debate. Cut corporate tax? I explained that in a previous post. Where are Republican ideas to "build something?" Even "let's go to the moon" wasn't a serious policy. 50% disapproval? Remember, half the country is Republican. Pointing out their party is 90% white only seems to get screams of "liar".

Obama is so mainstream. He came from a middle class family. Took out student loans to go to school. Paid off his student loans. Has the kind of family all right wingers say he should have. His policies have been to bring health care to the middle class. To take out Bin Laden. So far the right wing has attacked everything about him. The best they can do is go after him for people he barely knows or his preacher, who he left, for saying "God damn America", in context, who was saying what will happen if the country doesn't follow "Biblical scripture" which is what about 90% of Republicans also believe.

But forget all that. Where is the part about "educating America". About creating skilled workers? About bringing manufacturing back here without some kind of "tax scam"? About returning American students to number one in "science"? About helping the Middle Class? About "health care"? About growing the economy (but with specifics)?

How can they leave all that out? Where was it in the debate?

In case you were in a coma at the time comrade dean, democrats voted for boots on the ground in Iraq and then they sat back like bystanders or members of the jihad undermining the mission every chance they got. Don't forget the nut case democrat senate majority leader trying to get Americans to lay down their arms and surrender when he said "the war is lost". Don't forget democrat senator John Kerry calling American Troops "terrorists" and democrat congressman calling Marines "murderers" and then there is the DNC purchase of a full page ad in the NY Times calling the commander of American Troops "betray-us". Yeah it wasn't mentioned in the debates but I bet the republican candidate, who ever he is, will bring it up during the campaign.

I missed the part about Republican policies. Please "highlight" and repost.

Pretty uninformed, even from you.

I have to admit, there has been less about "guns". But the other two?

So, where are the policies? Serious policies that cover what is going on in the country?

For instance, how is cutting education going to create "skilled workers"? That's a good place to start.

Ever heard of Doug Feith whitehall? :eusa_whistle: The neocon-plant in the Pentagon who was tasked w/ putting out *cough* "information"?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Douglas_J._Feith#Bush_administration
His appointment was facilitated by connections he had with other neoconservatives, including Richard Perle and Paul Wolfowitz. "The bottom line is that intelligence relating to the Iraq-al-Qaeda relationship was manipulated by high-ranking officials in the Department of Defense to support the administration's decision to invade Iraq." General Tommy Franks, who led both the 2001 invasion of Afghanistan and the Iraq War, once called Feith "the dumbest fucking guy on the planet."
Another neocon war drum banger was Kristol. Know who pays him every sunday to be on one of their *cough* "news" shows"?

Who's 'cutting education'?

A news advisory from Penn State University called the cuts "catastrophic."

The 50 percent loss in state funding applies to the 14 state-owned universities -- including California, Clarion, Edinboro, Indiana and Slippery Rock -- as well as four state-related schools: the University of Pittsburgh and Penn State, Temple and Lincoln universities.

If enacted, they likely would amount to the largest single-year cut ever in American public higher education, according to the Washington D.C.-based American Association of State Colleges and Universities.

Proposed education cuts termed 'catastrophic'

Now those cuts were made in March of last year. Let's look at this year:

Corbett would cut $330 million, or 20 percent, from the budgets of the 14 state-owned universities, including Kutztown and East Stroudsburg.

He would slice $147.4 million, or 30 percent, from state funds to three of the four state-related universities: Penn State, Temple and the University of Pittsburgh.

Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett to cut higher education funding to universities like Kutztown, Penn State and Temple in his 2012-2013 proposed budget. - mcall.com

That's just one state. You guys sit in front of the Internet. Instead of looking to see what Democrats are doing, find out what your own party is doing. When we point out what the Republican leadership is doing, you guys are shocked and scream liar. How can you know so little about your own party?

OK, that's from four years ago. Which parts do you specifically approve of. Which policy really stands out?

I think that pretty much answers the question.

I don't care if "Intense" even comments on this. I'm interested in Republican Policies. Let's debate. But first, can someone name and describe a "policy"?

How the fuck is state budget cuts part of the national debate for President?

Because it's still Republican policy. Haven't you heard Rick Santorum talk about slashing federal funding for education? Or all the nominees wanting to rid the country of the Department of Education? Or returning all education to the states?

What are the ramifications? Think about it.

Who's 'cutting education'?

everyone including Democrats....Dean equates cutting the Education budget with Hating it and wanting to END it if a Republican does it.....if a Democrat does it.....they are just budgeting and doing what has to be done.....

The Department of Education hasn't done a very good job. We spend more money per student than any other country and our children are getting dumber by the day. That money should stay in the states rather than filter it through another layer of Federal bureaucrats.

Besides the feds saving money, it would cause the states to pony up as it should be funded at the local level.

Quit being such low life and spend your own money.
