So now for the rest of the story.
The question was asked re conservatives & several self identified conservatives offered ideas, including the issues of States Rights, reading the Constitution and interpreting the "original intent" of the framers, the support for the status quo and tradition (then stating "Liberals are destroyers of custom and convention."). Another argued, "There is far too much diversity in conservative beliefs to answer the question" and later defined why he is a conservative i(IMO) in generally Libertarian terms (see #33 in the aforementioned thread for his exact words) and other responses.
So, why are you a liberal/Progressive? What beliefs do you hold which cause you to so self identify? Or, are you a moderate, accept some of the ideas and principles of conservatives and some of the ideas and principles of the progressives?
