Manufacturing is moving out of China because of tariffs. After those moves are made the employment losses will not be reversed. The other problems with China Inc are:

Retirement ages of 55 for women and 60 for men.

The one child policy even with some exemptions prevents labor force growth.

The utility of the left coast ports of the US as shipment points are gone both for reasons of unreliability and higher costs due to state regulations, terrible topography and taxes.

With the expansion of the Panama canal and much lower costs in the US to most internal destinations using Gulf and Atlantic ports there is an uncoordinated push me, pull me going on in the US-China trade with an unpredictable "OH NO!" point up ahead that will result in more transition costs to reduce US-China trade.

So, what will this feedback loop do to US politics and growth?
