I think this is probably a propaganda piece designed by Craigslist.

Could be true, I suppose, but I'm highly dubious.

Although I do know a guy who, through the judicious use of comshaw (read THEFT of government supplies), managed to trade up a case of K-bars into a field hospital tent.

But wait, here's the best part...he also extended his time in service just long enough that the government actually paid to have his ill-got gains shipped free of charge to his home of residence when he got out.
