The good news about this virus is that you can recover from it...people are being treated and they are recovering...its not the death sentence we thought it was last month....its respiratory in nature so the elderly and babies and people with damaged immune systems will get very ill and may die regardless of treatment....that is not all that different than the flu....

The lesson we need to learn from this is our links to a closed society like China....we need to bring back manufacturing to our shores...we need to shed our addiction to cheap Chinese crap and be careful in the future who we do business with and what kind of business we do...who ever sat in the white house and allowed pharmaceutical companies to make medicine in China and not here should be dragged out and horse whipped in public...whether it was Obama Bush or Clinton.....
How stupid are our leaders?....

Per capita mortality rate of those getting the coronavirus is 20 TIMES GREATER than influenza.... And it is much more contagious, because none of the population is vaccinated.

If all goes well we can have a vaccination in 12 to 18 months.

Not world wide.

Coronavirus has the spotlight, but the flu is much more deadly, because many do not take the vaccine, same will be true for the Coronavirus.

Weekly U.S. Influenza Surveillance Report (FluView)
I took mine as did everyone in our ski group, but three of us came down with influenza A anyway, due to being on the same outbound flight, sitting near but not beside some Asian woman coughing her head off for an hour and a half on first flight leg. Our cases were milder because we all have always kept up with vaccinations. 4 of the 5 can come up with our individual shot records going back 40+ years on a moments notice. I believe in keeping up with vaccinations. After all those years of not really having much of a choice, it has become second nature. We stay healthier and more active than most in our age group.

We know the flu, this thing is a stranger. In the absence of solid data it must be treated like a mass killer for two reasons. It may actually have an appallingly high death rate, we don't know for sure. Second, even if it is not a terribly deadly disease it will show us the flaws in the system meant to catch and isolate emergent pathogens.

World wide average..... China is greater.... but China has had the most spread of it, and who can trust their reporting? It's likely worse than their 3 to 5% mortality rate they claim they have....
