What a weird race...santorum wins minnesota,missouri

possibly. who knows. It's still early. Which is why I keep saying that every time someone declares the race over.

I think people are getting tired of all the negative attack ads. How about adds that tell people what they are going to do to help solve our nation’s problems. All these attack adds are turning people off to Romney and Newt, Santorum has stayed out of that for the most part.

Santorum won Colorado too. Problem is...I think he got more delegates from the Iowa caucus than he did tonight. Missouri where he had a HUGE win doesn't have ANY delegates. So in the delegate count, it doesn't mean much. However...these states are battle ground states in the general election and Santorum DESTROYED EVERYONE!

I mean, it wasn't even close. More than a 20% margin in 2 states and 6% in Colorado. He is the FIRST guy to get over 50% in one of these things. THAT...is an indication of voter enthusiasm. Just like the high turnout in South Carolina was.

I don't know how it will translate in the long run, but you can bet his donations will go up...just like it did for Newt after South Carolina.

I also suspect the Romney attack machine will now turn to Rick. Which should give Newt some breathing space. Romney can't keep spending money to attack Newt AND go after Santorum or he'll burn through his war chest before the end.

Don't be surprised if the Santorum's dead baby thing doesn't come back up. Romney's attack machine is some low life SOBs!

I dont think Romney will touch the baby. They aren't really that low. Newt's just got alot of crap in his closet.

I think Palin hasn't endorsed anybody because I have a feeling that she is seriouly thinking about getting into the race. She can see that there is no clear candidate.

This is great news for Paul. As Republicans desperately try to find a non-Conservative who holds their views, Paul is keeping consistent. As the other RINOs keep falling out of the race, it really boils down to establishment Republicans and Ron Paul.

While I wish more Republicans would embrace Conservatism, this is good news for the Ron Paul campaign.

I hate to burst your bubble but Paul is not doing good and has no chance of winning. He seems like a nice guy though.

You didn't burst my bubble. I was just facetiously poking fun at fake Republicans while injecting a spirit of optimism into Paul's campaign. C'mon, do you really think Republicans are going to support a Conservative? Heck, look at their choices so far.

I honestly don't think Paul will win the Presidency, but it is boiling down to him and Santorum/Romney. He has been persistent and as other GOP candidates drop out of the race, he hold fast. Plus, Paul is the only person who can sincerely challenge Obama on numerous fronts about change. What is Santorum going to challenge Obama on? He is a big government social conservative who thinks Obama has been weak on national defense...lol.

Ron Paul provides the only substance to a real national challenge (and I don't kid myself about his odds. I am very realistic).

Actually, Santorum is also fiscal conservative. If you check, he actually authored the Welfare Reform Act that Newt forced Clinton to sign. He also authored and sponsored several other government reform bills that reduced government and were passed back in the 90's.

He DOES have some problems with his views on the roll of government in the states...especially for constitutional conservatives like me...but he is a VAST improvement over Obama and MUCH better than Obama lite...Romney. ;~)

Spending is another story. The free-market advocacy group Club for Growth describes Santorum’s fiscal record as conservative early on, but “plagued by the big-spending habits that Republicans adopted during the Bush years of 2001-2006.”

Data from the National Taxpayers Union shows that Santorum ranked in the top third among Senate Republicans for highest amount of proposed funding increases during the 107th Congress. He sponsored legislation to raise federal spending by a net $27 billion during that period, from January 2001 to January 2003.
Santorum’s record on fiscal policy (Fact Checker biography) - The Washington Post

He supported steel tariffs in Pennsylvania, which did him little good in his own re-election effort.

He supported No Child Left Behind.

He supported the prescription drug benefit.

He supported the Bridge to Nowhere. In fact, according to Club for Growth, “Santorum had the audacity to vote to continue funding the Bridge to Nowhere rather than send the money to rebuild New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.”

i am still amazed at how hard the gop is trying to lose the 2012 election

Santorum is crooked and corrupt and he wants to take us back to the Dark Ages. Gingrich is crooked and corrupt and was run outta DC the last time. Mittens says his daddy was a carpenter; next he'll say he himself was born in a manger. Paul ... half sane but the other half is just SO crazy.

-- but, none of this seems to matter to the rw's. They have their marching orders - vote for anybody but Obama and they don't care that the GObP wants only one thing and has been working for only one thing - to bankrupt the United States.

The GObP/Repubs are against jobs and so far, I haven't heard any of the Clown Car Candidates say what they would do to create jobs. President Obama has created and/or saved well over 3MILLION jobs and there are more jobs and more growth every single month - in spite of the filibustering and obstructing from the right.

We will someday learn that the whole Clown Car is working for the Dems.

No Surprise, Iowa Social Conservatives Are About To Shoot Us All in the Foot Again | RedState

Sntorum also "supported" his friends, Ensign and Coburn in their sex and hush-money scandal. Or at least, that's the one he got caught for.

Widespread GOP hypocrisy revealed in Ensign affair | Capitol Hill Blue

Being R's, nobody really cares and they all got off Scott free.

It amazes me that corrupt crooks like Santorum and Gingrich have the nerve to even show their faces in public but to actually run for president?

Astounding. And, disgusting.

The problem with Santorum is he is a social conservative. When a liberal is a social liberal, we call them socialists because they want to use the state to further their views and policies in society. It's really no different for social conservatives with their laundry list of items to make America better. For a Republican to win in 2012, they will have to attract the swing voters and independents. I don't think Sanotrum can pull that off. If he gets on his moral high horse and starts preaching about marriage amendments and abortion, he will hand the election to Obama. The Republican candidate has to focus on the economy and jobs to beat Obama.

Did you hear his speech last night?

Santorum is not on a moral high horse. It is reporters and political hacks that have been bugging him about those issues.
He is concerned with getting Obama out of office and getting the economy moving again.
He is also concerned with all the freedoms we have lost under the Obama regime.

Santorum is the MOST conservative candidate left, and he has my endorsement.

Do you have another source beside Capital Hill Blue? They lost all credit with their accusation of Bush saying the Constitution is a goddamn piece of paper. While I have my concerns about Bush infringing upon the Constitution, there is no reason to blatantly lie about it. Therefore, I don't trust CHB and see them as a bias source, primarily driven by a partisan agenda, rather than elucidation about the facts.
