Where to begin?

If you are an undecided voter and are doing the research to see which candidate meets your needs, then I applaud you. If you are a supporter for Senator John McCain, then I also applaud you. However, for the people for honestly feel that Senator Barack Obama is what we need for a change in this country then I am afraid that those people are wrong. You see this country does not need a change; it’s the people in it that need the change. In the primaries, I wanted to see individuals such as Rudy Giuliani, Hilary Clinton, and Mitt Romney, be the ones that we would be talking about come November. Sad to say, the public is weak and naive and as long as someone says “change” and how the Bush administration failed a thousand times then they get your vote. If you watched last nights debate you would see how Obama continued to use his trademark lines which includes how McCain supported Bush, and what he will do with taxes, and all of the typical foundations that Democrats were built upon. What we hardly saw was Obama answering the actual questions. He plays a great game of clichés' and extreme generalities. At the very least, John McCain answered the questions and said what he was going to do and he even admitted to being wrong. I find it very funny how the people view the GOP party as a bunch of old people who have a lots of money and do not care about the middle class folk. I also find it funny how people often forget how we came to this country. Remember individuals fled from the British Empire because of high taxes and government indolent that was being placed on them. (By the way the US is heading in the same direction the British and Roman Empire did) They then came to this country and felt that if you had the right to choose the quality of your life. When the GOP party was formed it was in rebellion to the Democrats and those who believed in government control. Unfortunately that has changed causing the majority of the younger people to sway to the other side and this is what we have now; and inexperienced individual who got the nomination by a fluke and lucky timing. Forget about another Bush administration...what about another Carter administration!!!! The media has continued to destroy this whole experience for me. Why don't they just come out and say that they want Obama to win. God forbid one was to say anything bad about him because you will get one hell of a backlash. Their credentials are just as weak as Obama's along with the stupid celebrities that support him. My wife and I will be voting for a true American hero in John McCain. As much as I have hope, there is that sense of reality that hope will not matter when the irrational are involved. Barack Obama will win this election due to those people who do not want to accept responsibility for their life and want everything handed to them. I just hope I do not reenact a scene from Planet of the Apes when Charlton Heston gets on his knees and screams "You Maniacs"!

I stopped reading when you said you wanted to hear about Rudy Giuliani come November.

I stopped reading at "He plays a great game of clichés' and extreme generalities. " because that is what the debates are for, for the people who haven't paid attention to anything yet, which is a decent chunk of the electorate.

Or not. What makes your opinion worth sooo much?
You see this country does not need a change; it’s the people in it that need the change. In the primaries, I wanted to see individuals such as Rudy Giuliani, Hilary Clinton, and Mitt Romney, be the ones that we would be talking about come November. Sad to say, the public is weak and naive and as long as someone says “change” and how the Bush administration failed a thousand times then they get your vote.
Or they're smart, knowthat the Bush administration has all but destroyed this country and know that without an severe change in leadership this country is going down the tubes.
If you watched last nights debate you would see how Obama continued to use his trademark lines which includes how McCain supported Bush, and what he will do with taxes, and all of the typical foundations that Democrats were built upon.
That's because McCain has supported Bush 90% of the time, he will continue to cut taxes for the wealthy and the large Corporations and shows absolutely no consideration for the working people in this country.
What we hardly saw was Obama answering the actual questions. He plays a great game of clichés' and extreme generalities. At the very least, John McCain answered the questions and said what he was going to do and he even admitted to being wrong.
I think that you have a hard time understanding intelligent people. McCain was simple, short sighted, divisive, and lacked in both knowledge and wisdom. He put most of his effort into attacking Obama instead of answering the questions. Obama consistently answered the questions (probably not at a level that you could comprehend). He showed wisdom, knowledge, strategic judgement and dignity.
I find it very funny how the people view the GOP party as a bunch of old people who have a lots of money and do not care about the middle class folk.
No, the conservatives are a lot more than that - and none of it good.
I also find it funny how people often forget how we came to this country. Remember individuals fled from the British Empire because of high taxes and government indolent that was being placed on them.
Most people came to this country to flee from societies which were dominated by the wealthy and where the wealthy were the government (What do you think makes a king a king?)

They came to this country because it was the land of oppurtunity for the working class - the American dream. Now that dream has all but been destroyed by the Republicans over the past 30 years.

(By the way the US is heading in the same direction the British and Roman Empire did)
No shit sherlock! The British and Roman empires over extended their military while a tiny percentage of them reaped all the financial benefits. The result was that first their government went bankrupt, then their military collapsed.

Republican leadership is leading us down the very same path.

Did you miss it when Obama said that he considered economics to be a fundamental part of national security?

Or did that go over your head?

They then came to this country and felt that if you had the right to choose the quality of your life.

When the GOP party was formed it was in rebellion to the Democrats and those who believed in government control.

What planet are you from? Here on earth everyone knows that the GOP by formed by an elitist group of northerners whose primary concern was the abolition of slavery. Abraham Lincoln was the first Republican President.

He lead a war by the federal government that destroyed the entire sociio-economic structure of the south.

You can't get much more government control than that.

Unfortunately that has changed causing the majority of the younger people to sway to the other side and this is what we have now; and inexperienced individual who got the nomination by a fluke and lucky timing. Forget about another Bush administration...what about another Carter administration!!!!

Sometimes wisdom is more important than experience. I think most people will agree that while Carter was not amoung the greatest of Presidents, Bush is certainly among the worst if not THE WORST President this country has ever had.

The media has continued to destroy this whole experience for me.
Keep on interrupting your fantasies with all that reality stuff?

Why don't they just come out and say that they want Obama to win. God forbid one was to say anything bad about him because you will get one hell of a backlash. Their credentials are just as weak as Obama's along with the stupid celebrities that support him.
Funny, my late brother worked for the associated press, NBC, FOX and finally dateline NBC. He never met any of the celebrities that you think are so close to the news media.

While news people do have individual opinions most of them try to stay nuetral. Apparently anything close to nuetral or factual is interperted by you as supporting Obama.

My wife and I will be voting for a true American hero in John McCain.

Please vote for whoever you prefer, but be aware that while McCain certainly is an American hero, many people feel that his experience as a POW doesn't qualify him to be the President of the United States. There are many, many people who have been patriotic heros, but they would not think ofthemselves as qualified to be President.

And also remember, the Hitler appealed to the German people based on the fact that he had been a soldier who was gassed during WWI and a hero to Germany.

He then all but destroyed Germany and the rest of western civilization.

Having been a General is a good qualification for President. Being a fighter pilot and a POW is not.

As much as I have hope, there is that sense of reality that hope will not matter when the irrational are involved. Barack Obama will win this election due to those people who do not want to accept responsibility for their life and want everything handed to them.
What a bunch of GOP propaganda crap! The democrats have been the champions of the working people in this country for the past century.

The suppoters of Obama are are taking responsibilty for themselves and their country by electing him.

I just hope I do not reenact a scene from Planet of the Apes when Charlton Heston gets on his knees and screams "You Maniacs"!

You mean like every intelligent person in this world has been screaming for the past 8 years!?!?!?!

:eusa_boohoo: Great entrance to USMB! Welcome aboard. Sit down and make your self comfortable. Here - have some  .... you are in for a very bumpy ride.

:eusa_naughty: Just be prepared for some feedback ... cause we are not all as stupid as you may think! Have a good day!

This ad, was paid for by CA95380 - and I appove of it! :D

Or not. What makes your opinion worth sooo much?

Because I am a responsible contributing memeber to society. What makes your reaction worth so much?

Or they're smart, knowthat the Bush administration has all but destroyed this country and know that without an severe change in leadership this country is going down the tubes.

What will destroy this country is a socialist way of thinking my friend. Socialism is great, but not for contries that have had democracy since thier inception.

That's because McCain has supported Bush 90% of the time, he will continue to cut taxes for the wealthy and the large Corporations and shows absolutely no consideration for the working people in this country.

Obama will raise the taxes so much for the business that they will flock overseas. Therefore, out job market will be destroyed. He is a big spender and his budget plan does not even add up and will get us more in a hole.

I think you are like the rest and flock the way of what is popular.

No, the conservatives are a lot more than that - and none of it good.

As Huckabee said "not all were born with silver spoons in their mouths" Apparently you do not feel that you should get rewarded for hard work.

Most people came to this country to flee from societies which were dominated by the wealthy and where the wealthy were the government (What do you think makes a king a king?)

Once again, their main objection was the insane about of taxes they had to pay. Which is what the DEMS are known for.

They came to this country because it was the land of oppurtunity for the working class - the American dream. Now that dream has all but been destroyed by the Republicans over the past 30 years.

The American Dream is to succeed and make your own choices. Not stay head above water.

No shit sherlock! The British and Roman empires over extended their military while a tiny percentage of them reaped all the financial benefits. The result was that first their government went bankrupt, then their military collapsed.

I will not even respond to you.

Republican leadership is leading us down the very same path.

Same with your side.

Did you miss it when Obama said that he considered economics to be a fundamental part of national security?

Did you miss it when he never really said what he is going to do for the American people? Or were in in awe by his presence?

Or did that go over your head?

What planet are you from? Here on earth everyone knows that the GOP by formed by an elitist group of northerners whose primary concern was the abolition of slavery. Abraham Lincoln was the first Republican President.

I agree, but Carter is right behind him!

Keep on interrupting your fantasies with all that reality stuff?

Since your so defensive it makes me wonder if the truth really hurts you.

Funny, my late brother worked for the associated press, NBC, FOX and finally dateline NBC. He never met any of the celebrities that you think are so close to the news media.

Ok?

While news people do have individual opinions most of them try to stay nuetral. Apparently anything close to nuetral or factual is interperted by you as supporting Obama.

Your point?

I realize now that you new to this message board and I definitely DO NOT apologize. People voicing their opinions AND other people reacting to them are what this message board is all about. We can get a bit nasty, but TRUTH is more important than being polite.

I suggest that you think thru and even research anything that you post on this message board before you post it. Usually, off the cuff opinions get ripped apart in not so nice ways.

Well, welcome aboard. I hope that you are not too offended by my reply and that you enjoy debating as much as the rest of us at USMB.

lol is all I can say. What the heck did you expect after posting that extremely opinionated stuff

And you did kind of attack the media, celebrities and Obama supporters in general. To which you received a most excellent rebuttal from Richard.

I went back and looked to see what 'my' first post was on the board .... (we will not go into that right now - cause it was dumb! Real dumb!) So when that didn't work I tried this one ...

http://www.usmessageboard.com/elections-2008/55733-ok-so-lets-take-a-vote.html ...my 2nd post.

..... at that time I was "looking for the person I wanted to vote for", a boni-fide "Undecided". So getting my feet wet I posted a poll ... to test the water. There was no way in hell that I would have come to a board that has as many members as this .... spouting off as you did .... without knowing that I would get bombarded, which you did. Since my first day's here - I have gotten the bomb dropped on me a couple of times, which was expected and deserved- because I have a BIG MOUTH, and not afraid to admit it. Gunny and the Mod's are tough around here. Real tough! :eusa_shifty:

But you coming in here - your very first post with pistols blazing, and smoking ... you could not expect any different reception that what you got, right? With that said .... how bout you start over? Read some people's opinions and comments. I am sure there will be plenty that you disagree with ... but as was mentioned - comment on them - have an open mind. Remember cramming your opinion down someone's throat or :dig: yourself in - when we first met you - leave's a bad taste in the mouths of some. :eusa_shifty:

So, once again .... :welcome: BritishEmpire2

Ut oh! You got jillian on ya already! lol :D

It's been great that so many people are talking politics finally, and getting involved in the process. I'm talking about it with neighbors and people I barely know, they bring it up, I bring it up - the internet is nice too, this foru is a good outlet....
