What a Horse Race!!

Romney needs all but one of Swing States to win presidency

That’s the bad news. But the good news is he is winning in three, tied in two and losing in one. What a horse race! But it's as though we are at the starting line. A lot can happen until November.

Colorado (9 Electoral Votes) ………..Romney 47% Obama 47% ………….tie
Iowa (6 Electoral Votes)………….Romney 46% Obama 44% …………… Romney
Wisconsin (10 Electoral Votes)……….Romney 48% Obama 47% …………Romney
Ohio (18 Electoral Votes)…………Romney 45% Obama 45% …………….tie
Virginia (13 Electoral Votes) ………….Romney 46% Obama 48% …………..Obama
Florida (29 Electoral Votes)…………Romney 45% Obama 43% Romney

Another bit of trivia. At this point in the election cycle, we have 24 red states, 20 blue. Obama won in 2008 with 28 blue states.

I think they're both running backwards.

Once the race continues, you'll see one of them is more forward than the other, lol.

Romney wants to go to war in Iran, solicits for campaign funds in Israel, wants to take away ACA health care, Medicare and Social Security, give EVEN MORE tax cuts to the wealthy while increasing taxes on the middle class, refuses to show 12 years of tax returns like his father and other presidential candidates, has the same "advisers" as W.Bush, can't commit to a position on most issues without flip flopping, has no foreign diplomacy experience or skills (UK and Poland trips), and some people wonder who they should vote for?

Obama is dropping bombs an any and every country he wants.
It's a good thing to gut ACA
No one has mentioned cutting MC or SS

Fuck the tax return bullshit

I want a fucking JOB
a BUDGET
Slash the DEBT/DEFICIT
Close GTMO
Get out of Afghanistan

It is practically impossible for Romney to capture the presidency without carrying Ohio and Virginia. Obama took both in 2008, and if he wins either again, he’s almost surely going to being reelected.

Keep an eye on these 2 states and Iowa! They may very well be the determining factors.

At the moment RCP has Obama up 3 in Ohio, up 4 in VA and IA Obama by 10.

From the PollWatch link:

Romney 47%

Obama 45%

Incumbent President only has a 50/50 approval rating. The challenger is outspending by a wide margin.
These are scary stats for a sitting President.

Has an incumbent ever won with these things against him?

RCP calls it closer, but in the swing states, Obama is ahead in five beyond the error or margin and Romney ahead in one beyond the error of margin. Obama leads in four of the other six.

It seems to be breaking down that Obama can win without Ohio but Romney has to have the state.

80+ days to go.

That's right, Jake. Romney has to have Ohio. But be careful of RCP polls. They include registered voters, not just likely voters and their data is often out of date.

Electoral College
Obama: 247 - Romney: 206 - Toss-up: 85

Rasmussen even has Obama with a commanding lead. THAT is how much of a lock the President's re-election is.

If the poll trends keep showing an increase for Romney, that'll change. Romney only needs 40 more EC points to make Obama really nervous.

Nearly all of the toss-ups need to go the way of Romney. Isn't going to happen. The Governor is circling the drain.
