Hopper denies role in state employee’s hire

Sen. Randy Hopper (R-Fond du Lac) told WKOW27 News he played no role in the recent hire of a state employee.

Sources told WKOW27 News the employee is the same woman Hopper’s estranged wife, Alysia Hopper referred to as Hopper’s mistress in a public statement and in a letter to a radio station.

Department of Regulation and Licensing spokesperson David Carlson said the woman, 26, was hired in February as a limited term communications specialist.

Carlson said he had no details on whether the woman was hired to a newly-created position or a vacant, existing slot. Carlson said he also had no details on the hiring process or the woman’s salary.

I am Jack's complete lack of surprise.

While Bill Clinton is alive democrats should bury their heads in shame rather than try to bring up trivial alleged morality issues as a political tool.

Hmmmm...

A former lobbyist getting a government job.

So unusual...it MUST be someone pulling some strings.

C'mon modbert...you are better than that.

Since I'm not a Democrat, your point is completely useless. But I give you points for trying.

Yet you ONLY post stories ABOUT republicans. Go figure.

Nice herp derp RGS.

Just two examples. Nice effort on your part, but no cigar.

I'm noticing a great number of the responses so far in this thread are aimed at me and not at the subject at hand. What do you think RGS? Give us your thoughts on this matter. :D

You do realize that this is an everyday occurance with government and politics, right?
With government, it's not what you know, it's who you know.
That's why our government screws up everything it touches.

And once again, it turns into bashing each other.

Bottom line and one that was completely ignored...and not surprised it was....

It is not unusual for a lobbyist to get a job in government. Likely the senator was one of MANY people she knew....and her knowledge and work ethic was known well by people in the Capitol...so for her to get a job there makes sense.

End of conversation.

As to the OP ...

There's no evidence that he played a role in getting her the job. Her last job was as a lobbyist so I'm sure she has a lot of connections and what not as well.

So that makes this okay?

End of conversation?

So, it's anonymous hearsay identification of an alleged mistress? Alleged by an estranged wife, with no proof? This is journalism?

Oh and, I wonder if this woman will be forced to join the union?

"She says there's a mistress and they (sources) say it's her." I shit you not, this passes for TV journalism. Credible, sourced, believable. Passes any critical thinking test! :cuckoo:

Got'cha.

Of course not.....but it is what it is.....a non story, Modbert.
Give us some news.

he's living with this woman, mistress, in madison.... is what i have read. Rumor? who knows???

maybe it's not 'who you know' that gets you a state gvt job, but 'who you ''do''?' ;)

No, it doesn't. Political cronyism and nepotism that is supported by public money needs to be truly stamped out. Problem is no one is willing to do the work.
