Western Wildfires

Recent California fires have been started by PG&E power lines, hot cars pulling over on dry grass, and the Redding fire was started by a rancher's poorly installed electric fence.

The area where I lived in the Santa Cruz Mountains ( 2013-'15) burned in 2017 because of arson.

A dozen years ago a mother started a huge wildfire in California because she wanted her firefighter son to have work.

Not much u can do about that stuff

Interesting stuff.....but the climate crusaders would call bs on you....they say wind off warmer water causing these fires. As if these fires are some new phenomenon.:shok::shok::shok:

Unfortunately now not only will they get rain and cooler temperatures but they will now get winds... I figured the High pressures were at least a day away from collapse but it took less than 14 hours..

The moisture stream is very evident in this satellite view..

Having flown over most of the Western states, dead trees are a huge problem. A problem caused by global warming. The warming of the forests not only dry out the vegetation, but allow for extreme insect infestation, because of the increase in warmth in the winter, the larvae are not killed by the normally cold temperatures, but the bird migrations are still on a schedule that was good forty years ago, but no longer agrees with the life cycle of the insects.

Of course, the solution would be to fund the Forest Service to the point that it could actually do the thinning. But that would be socialism, now, wouldn't it.
