Wes Goodman (R, Ohio) resigns after being caught having gay sex in his Capitol office

What a dummy. I can think of a million perfectly safe places to have gay sex at. My office isn't one of them. :dunno:

If it leads to him finally being open and dealing with all this,
I guess circumstances have a way of catching up with him.

If that's what it takes.
The secret affair would have kept going until
SOMETHING broke. Something would happen
sooner or later, and this is how it came out.

Perkins was aware this man was a creep, but he didn't do anything about it. I suppose keeping the seat was more important.

"Trust me . . . this will not be ignored nor swept aside:"

What a crock of shit!

FRC loves to preach about morals and family values, but suddenly they become silent as the grave when it's one of their own is a pervert. Fucking hypocrites.

I've been with my husband for almost 17 years. I was 20 when we met and we've been together ever since. The FRC spends their days shitting on my marriage and my relationship, but Perkins has zero issue sweeping this creep under the rug to avoid an embarrassing scandal.

“But GOP hypocrisy is a feature, not a bug. Goodman stayed in the closet so long for the same reasons that Republicans spent so much energy to keep transgender people out of public bathrooms but aren't actually bothered that Roy Moore could be a real-life child predator. As long as you help the party get power, it doesn't matter what you do or who you stalk in private.” ibid

Exactly.

Anti-Gay Ohio Republican Resigns After, Surprise, Having Sex with a Man in the State Capitol

After being caught having an affair and sex in his govt office,
Wes Goodman admitted the claims were true and resigned.

How you can tell he's Republican:
He resigned immediately instead of denying wrongdoing,
and the affair was with a married man not a woman!

When a guy gay-bashes all the time I always suspect that he's in the closet.

I wonder who walked in on them.

:50:

Dear C_Clayton_Jones
Aren't the parties equal when it comes to hypocrisy and contradicting themselves:
1. the liberals claim to defend pro choice from infringement or control by federal govt
then turn around and hand control over ALL HEALTH CARE decisions of individuals to govt
2. the conservatives claim that people should govern independently of govt and invest
in private sector and business solutions. So why are all they DEPENDING on Trump
and Congress for reforms. What happened to DIY if that is what they preach?

The DIFFERENCE I have found CCJ:
1. when I confront Christians or Constitutionalists
using the very principles they claim and commit to follow,
they usually RESPOND to the rebuke. They either correct it
or agree to some alternative that would meet THEIR OWN STANDARDS
2. not so much with liberals and Democrats who
ONLY FOLLOW THEIR PARTY PLATFORM LIKE A RELIGION

Their POLITICAL RELIGION relies on "following the leader" so they can no longer
decide for themselves but must wait on mandates through govt or party from the top down.

The Conservatives who think and act for themselves as Christians and/or
as Constitutionalists INVOKING THE LAW DIRECTLY are able to answer DIRECTLY.

That's a HUGE difference, in empowerment and ability for self-government.

So even where there IS "hypocrisy on both sides"
I have MORE success policing CONSERVATIVES
who either respond to Christian or Constitutional principles or both.
And have a lot HARDER time trying to get liberals/Democrats
to correct and check themselves by their own principles.

That's why you will see Republicans pressuring their own party leaders
and members to step down, because they will rebuke each other by
Christian or Constitutional laws. The Democrats put party agenda
first, so whatever meets that end, whatever is more convenient, that's what gets pushed.
The Republicans DO HAVE this same problem in their ranks,
but the members pushing AGAINST that have more leverage to stand on,
so they tend to do better than the Democrats. The party is divided with
nothing to keep them together because they don't invoke either
Constitutional or Christian principles which Republicans use to stay aligned.
When they lose sight of that, yes, they start to fall apart also;
but the ones who stick with those principles remain steadfast.

Frankly, I'm ready to see the Christian left and right from BOTH
parties stand together, and correct the corrupt abuses going on with both parties!
Maybe that's when we will finally see the hypocrisy called out and corrected with BOTH!

Good riddance to the fag.

Dear theHawk
Your comment makes me wish we had a button for SAD.
I feel sad for this man, and sad for the attitude you express in your comment.

It's one thing to expect someone to resign
for having sex in the office, having an affair and hiding it
and causing embarrassment both personally, professionally and publicly.
And contradicting the very campaigns and criticisms used to attack others for this.

But it's another thing to punish someone for "being a fag."
Even if you mean "he should get the judgment he unleashed on others",
two wrongs don't make it right.

I think that makes matters worse.
Thank you for sharing your honest reaction transparently.
I hope things will improve the more we learn and grow.
And we can avoid more problems like this in the future
by not creating an environment of rewarding people for hiding and denying,
and judging punishing and rejecting people like this.

Most of theses anti-gay republicans are secretly gay but hate that they're with a passion. Sad.

Shut up Matthew.

You are just jealous he didn't chose you to poke in the backside.

You loser....you have no clue as to how this works.

This guy hates himself as most as most normal people hate you.

again, maybe we need a button for
"sad but true" or one for "OUCH!"
