Well...looky at who is now behind more domestic drilling...

I bet he's being pulled kicking and screaming into have to go along with any of this..

I think I heard he warned his base they weren't going to like it...

How pathetic is that of a President...worried more about what his base will feel than what is the right thing to do for the country.

So you believe Obama was against it and you hate him for it. Then you find out he is for it and you hate him for it. You're not happy that he's doing it because, you believe, hE didn't really want to do it (hence the kicking and screaming comment). So you'll just make up any reason to be against anything he does...like suddenly being against healthcare mandates after the cons pushed the idea for a decade.

Actually, what he said 4 years ago in regard to domestic drilling was that he'd like to see more drilling on the lands that were *not* being drilled but were already leased to drill - before more land is leased.

A very expensive prospect for the drilling companies, sometimes with very little prospect. Very heave in licenses and fee's at every stage, with little or no promise. You might want to look into that.

I'm not sure how well your English is but -

Its election time and Barry has to at least look like he is trying to scare up a few jobs.

If he wins it will be back to the same old same old.

He could care less. Guys such a loser.

Psst....

From 2010

Obama to Open Offshore Areas to Oil Drilling for First Time

He only decided to ban it again thanks to the extremely bad safety and pollution prevention record and policy of BP, after the big spill.

But don't let the facts interrupt your Obama-bashing session. Carry on.

That was Coast Guard Jurisdiction. Poor Response. Political Response. Bad Form. That was also deep water, because of the rules, something that would have been much less risk closer to shore.

However, it does in fact show that he was not opposed to opening up offshore drilling, and in fact supported it as recently as 2010.

Which directly contradicts the aspersions people are casting in this thread claiming that Obama has "suddenly changed his stance" on offshore drilling.

The contradictions are in the details. The Contradictions are in the Fee's and Costs, too.
