Welfare 3500/Month ??? Is that even possible ?

True story yesterday at the dealership.....

"I'll try to make this as short and to the point as I can.

One of my salesmen here had a woman in his office yesterday wanting to lease a brand new Focus. As he was reviewing her credit app with her he noticed she was on social security disability. He said to her you don't look like your disabled and unable to work. She said well I'm really not, I could work if I wanted to but I make more now than I did when I was working and got hurt (non-disabling injury).

She said the gov't sends her $1500.00 a month in 1 check, she gets $700.00 a month on an EBT card (food stamps), and $800.00 a month for rent. Oh yeah and 250 minutes free on her phone. That is just south of $3500.00 a month.

When she was working she was taking home about $330.00 per week. Do the math and then ask yourself why the hell should she go back to work. If you multiply that by millions of people you start to realize the scope of the problem we face as a country. Once the socialist have 51% of the population in that same scenario we are finished.

The question is when do we cross that threshold if we haven't already, and there are not enough people working to pay enough taxes to support the non-working people? Riots?? Be prepared to protect your homes.

She didn't lease the Focus here because the dealer down the road beat our deal $by 10.00/month. Glad to know she is so frugal with her hard earned money."

*********************

Were they sour they lost the deal or is it possible someone could get this much money (say...if they were disabled) ?

$3500/month....untaxed (not sure if that is the case) equates to about $4500/$5000/mo.

Wow.....

BTW: This was on a local Ford dealers Facebook page (or so the e-mail I got states).

I still find it all a bit tough to believe.

Yes it is possible. For the Disabled, the ones that truly need and deserve aid. Between local and state aid.

prove it charles!

I just did some googling to view the government restrictions, rules and amounts paid on some of those benefits the salesman said and I say it is IMPOSSIBLE for this woman to receive those amounts...

You are a liar, salesman a liar and she a liar. I worked as a social worker in the welfare system and this is impossible. And social security disability disqualify you for any welfare benefits.:eusa_hand:
More right wing propaganda lies because there are village idiots that don't take the time to search for the facts and this they can count on.

Go on line and get a copy of a application for welfare and see how far you will get if you have this kind of income. She could not get this even if she had 14 children.

And you are FOS. Read the last line of my OP....I have asked repeatedly if this possible.

But you are not a credible source. I don't believe for one minute that you worked as a Social Worker or as anything except a mule for Welfare.

You are the one who keeps posting the crap threads.

Look in the mirror...bat.

Read Post 52.

I love it.....IT'S A LIE....HE LIED.....Blah blah blah blah.....

Dumb down the numbers a bit and see what it looks like. Could she get $2500/Mo ?

And what about this business of disability claims always rising in a weak economy ?

The left has these expectations that everyone desveres a three bedroom house on 1/4 acre lot....dinner out on Friday night, two cars, a free cell phone....and on and on and on.

Maybe it's time we looked around and determined just how bad the problem really is.

You leftwingloonies are to funny to watch.

The kicker is that in this rural "red" state, it seems that nearly everyone is on the government dole--from social security, disability (there is an epidemic of fat disabled guys around here), farm subsidies, you name it . . . and this state will reliably vote Republican. And these guys are all mooches.

Actually, I sort of hope Romney gets elected and takes all of the welfare from these Red State moochers. These lazy, stupid SOB's can starve as far as I'm concerned.

You're either lying or stupid.

Oh, wait, what am I saying...

How many kids does this entitlement mom have? Dependent upon that, and other things, she could potentially pull $3500..particularly if you're going to count things like Foodstamps...and the $100/monthly medicare premium...then if the kids get tanf (which they can if mom is disabled and it's a single parent hh) or child support, and their own subsidy for being children of a disabled parent...And do you have any idea what the medical premiums for children on state medical run? For a family $800 is not an outrageous sum.

The story is clearly bullshit.

However depending on where you live and number of dependents, it's possible to receive that much.

A better question would be, take out the red herring of her "really not being disabled", and do you think $3500 a month is too much to give a disabled American to live off of?

I also find it funny Republicans want to wipe out Social security and say that is an entitlement well dam straight it is my parents paid into it and now they are getting what they have soued. The right truly does need to get its priorities straight.

I also find it funny how you seem to generalize and are dead wrong.

Not generalizing going by what Mitt and Ryan want to do with it.

There is no GOP plan to wipe out Social Security. To say otherwise is an outright LIE. Romney's plan doesn't change a single thing for people who are already retired or who will retire soon. AND... people who want Traditional Medicare will still be able to choose it.

Then why are they saying its going to cost like en extra 5k-6k a year under Romney?

Tax free that annualizes to 42,000 a year.

On an taxed basis, that represents the potential equivalent of over 55,000 a year....

What is the average income in this country ?

And why is the story clearly anything ? Because you said so ?

I'd love to see some figures on what is really possible.

Btw I urge anyone who is honestly upset with welfare entitlements to contact te local office and request some information.

A vast majority of welfare is directly linked to children, the woman in the story would never be getting "$700 ebt, $800 paid to her landlord" if she didn't have 3 kids to care for.

It's damn near impossible for a working age adult to collect anything close to that, and what they can collect, they work for.

This:

Is perfectly realistic. I have carried multiple families at once who had a household that looked exactly like that.

The $1500 is SSI + disability;if she's getting $700 foodstamps with that income, then obviously she has a lot of kids in the household. And each of those children is potentially eligible for SSI/SSB and TANF, based on either their own or her disability.

Plus child support...which often comes in because in these cases where the kids have been on state assistance from birth the state is devoted to establishing child support orders and pursuing the heck out of them. She might not get all the child support, if the kids receive tanf...or it might just mean their tanf grants are lower than they might be otherwise.

Any facts you can provide would be useful.

I am planning on chasing this e-mail back through the source to get some more information. If this is a made up story, I plan to go after someone in the "information" network.

If it is true, I am going to ask about how we investigate this.

Liberals. That was the meme they were sending out a couple of months ago...they had some ridiculous number...I think it was $6400. They were claiming that under Romney every senior was going to have to pay an extra $6400 in medical costs/premiums whatever.

It was an egregious lie, which is why "they" have quit spreading it. But it did it's work...you still run across people who have internalized it as fact.

The Political ads and during the debates they were saying mitt and ryan wanted to turn it into a voucher program and it would cost folks an extra 5-6k a year.

This is just one issue i really tend to care about as my parents are on it and my dad has Parkinson's and really can't afford that much plus his meds.

It's clearly bullshit because it has too many red herrings. It is everything the right fears, the welfare queen living high off the dole. It's obviously fake, and I think you know that.

Also, last I checked, you too have access to this amazing thing called google. If you really want figures, nothings stopping you from looking.
