Poverty did not decline because of LBJ, it declined in spite of his policies.
Look genius, during LBJ's administration suburbs were booming. People were moving out of the cities in droves as tract housing sprung. The fact is our involvement in Vietnam pushed our manufacturing base to new heights. As a result the middle class could do nothing but grow.
