WE TOLD You SO!!! Once again from the mouth of the LEADER of ACA's supposed Exchanges!

Single payer, of the sort liberals are imagining, won't happen. What we will get is something even worse, a central cabal of three or four insurance companies running the show. Every time they want to increase prices, they'll just start threatening to close up shop and Congress will appease them at our expense.
Nah. Make it single payer and make the companies bid. They will turn on each other.
Guess what you idiot!

1,400 insurance companies go out of business! They pay collectively $100 billion a year in taxes! Where will that come from to replace their tax revenue?
450,000 people laid off at $300/week for 99 Weeks... Over $13 billion in unemployment checks... How f...king DUMB!
The health care industry will grow exponentially as more and more American are able to get quality, accessible, and affordable health care. That means there will be hundreds of thousand more jobs. The industry, however, wont die as many companies will pool to care to offer bids, decent bids. It's a win win.

Nope. A very few companies will eat up all of the others and then the American People will get to choose between one, and if they are lucky two plans. Neither of which will be as good for them as what they were able to get before the government mandates put all the other competition out of business so that the favored few could take over. Great plan if you're a fascist. Not so good if you actually want to take care of people.

That's an opinion, ok.

It's a prediction, and a very likely one in my estimation. Democrats and Republicans in Congress will wring their hands bemoaning the 'evil corporations' - but only after their checks have cleared.

A very well thought out one. Backed up by years of observations and a knowledge of how the economy works. Your progressive view of the world is simply not born out by reality.

Stay focused on the OP, please. You have not offered anything worthy to rebut except your opinion, which has never been much. So give us something worthy. ACA is going to become a single payer program because of folks like you.

It is? Why? Obama care was passed by people who had no clue what it was ultimately going to do. And the author of the damned law told everyone that he was relying on the ignorance and stupidity of people like YOU to get it passed. They were pretty upfront about the stupid Americans part.

That's your uninformed opinion, yes, but the point is that ACA will not be around forever and will be replaced by a single payer system. I would rather have a two-tier system like Australia but that won't happen, I think.

It's disgusting to even consider.

At that point, I would much rather have a government agency running the show.

At least we'd know that some group of shareholders isn't getting filthy rich on taxpayer money.

I can already see Jamie Gorelick (that name seems so appropriate) making tons more.

She's already become a 25 millionare via Fannie Mae.

MORE AND MORE Americans HAVE access BEFORE ACA! remember 10 million were not citizens of the 46 million... 14 million didn't know they were eligible Medicaid because the ineptness of Obama administration to register them. Finally 18 million under age 34 HAD access to health care already! They just didn't need to pay for insurance premiums as their out of pocket would cover the expenses.
Finally there still will be a reduction of the 1,400 companies down to what 5? They will let people go! It is NOT a win win with a government interference in 320 million people lives !

You know this.

I know this.

Reince Priebus won't touch it.

The establishment sell out.

Jamie Gorelick is even more well known for the "Jamie Gorelick Wall"!
At issue was the oft-noted wall of separation that prevented counterterrorism agents and federal prosecutors from communicating with one another prior to September 11. Information collected under special FISA warrants, which do not require a probable cause, was generally not to be shared with personnel responsible for enforcing federal criminal laws — where probable cause must be demonstrated for a warrant to be issued. As lawyers David Rivkin and Lee Casey noted on our Op-Ed page yesterday, the practical effect of the wall was that counterintelligence information was generally kept away from law enforcement personnel who were investigating al Qaeda activities. But Ms. Gorelick’s memo clearly indicated that the Clinton administration had decided as a matter of policy to go even beyond the law’s already stringent requirements in order to further choke off information sharing.

Jamie Gorelick’s wall

I am well aware of this.

Just trace her time through the government....she has gotten filthy rich thanks to taxpayers.

Even though she had no previous training nor experience in finance, Gorelick was appointed Vice Chairman of Federal National Mortgage Association (Fannie Mae) from 1997 to 2003. She served alongside former Clinton Administration official Franklin Raines.[7] During that period, Fannie Mae developed a $10 billion accounting scandal.[8]

On March 25, 2002, Business Week interviewed Gorelick about the health of Fannie Mae. Gorelick is quoted as saying, "We believe we are managed safely. We are very pleased that Moody's gave us an A-minus in the area of bank financial strength – without a reference to the government in any way. Fannie Mae is among the handful of top-quality institutions."[9] One year later, Government Regulators "accused Fannie Mae of improper accounting to the tune of $9 billion in unrecorded losses".[10]

In an additional scandal concerning falsified financial transactions that helped the company meet earnings targets for 1998, a "manipulation" that triggered multimillion-dollar bonuses for top executives,[11] Gorelick received $779,625.

A 2006 report of an investigation by the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight into Fannie Mae's accounting practices and corporate governance revealed that from 1998 to 2002 Gorelick received a total of $26,466,834.00 in income.

And we want to put these people in charge of our healthcare.
