Here is my question. If you're spending that much compared to all potential adversaries; how is spending $0.49, $0.50, or $0.51 of every dollar going to make you more secure, safe, or intimidate your enemies further?

I read his plan. I didn't see "military pay increase" there anywhere. That would be the first thing I raise; that and doubling military pensions.

He did say in his plan that he wants to build 17 ships a year instead of the 9 we're building now.

Right. We should totally let poor people die of treatable diseases to buy weapons that will be replaced in a few years and never used... not to mention a few that are completely impractical.

Here's the thing. You guys like to whine about the European Socialists, but the fact is, we are spending twice as much defending Europe than all of Europe combined does.

So they can spend on infrastructure and social programs, and we have crumbling bridges and huge slums.
