america, with all of her most ugly warts and blemishes, is still one of the greatest countries on the face of mother earth, and we all need to learn to appreciate the blessings we have all been so richly given in this great country of ours.

this is a country with lots of faults, but we have a form of democracy that has allowed us to recognize and seek to correct those faults over time for the bettermen of all our brothers and sisters.

while it is disheartening that we have not fully resolved the racial issues and tensions that have been so pervasive throughout our countries relatively short history, we have made significant progress.

i believe it is time for us all to stop blaming each other for the issues that still hold this country back related to race relations, and start pulling together to identify and resolve these issues for the benefit of future generations.

following the old adage that a man's reach should always exceed his grasp - why can't we all share dr. martin luther king's dream and work together to make it a reality?

ultimately, we are all in this thing together as americans, and i'm at that age where i'm looking for ways to leave a better world for my children, and my children' children - and ultimately, for all future americans.

i really don't believe the "race hustlers" have nearly as much power and influence as the media seems prone to make them out to have. i mean honestly, what have either of these two done to make things better for anyone? there may be some that i'm not aware of, but obviously i just don't see it (i.e. if they were the solution, we would have a good orderly path to follow to resolve race issues - instead, they seem more prone toward simply padding their own pockets).

there will always be hustlers around, and there really is'nt much we can do about that, but to say we can't identify and fix race issues until they get out of the way is to say we will never even begin to resolve our remaining issues.
