Why hasn't the gov't cracked down on illeagle aliens? Lets take a closer look.
Here is a group of people that risk their lives to come to the United States. Most are here to try to better their lives. Granted some are thieves or crooks but there is a percentage of naturally born citizens that also fit this catagory. Lets look farther.
They take low paying jobs, gardeners, hotel maids etc..... I haven't heard of any that are CEO's of large corporations. They have a strong work ethic.... Something thats not as common as it used to be here. Most have forged documents that allow them to work here. As an employer its against the U.S. law to question these documents when presented. A large amount of these people have the standard witholdings taken out of their checks, Fed tax, State tax, social security and medicare, yet few if any file for tax refunds or will receive social security. This is free money given to a government that is in serious financial trouble.
When social security was concieved there were 5 people employeed for every one drawing benefits. The money that came into the system was not saved for future retirees but spent in the yearly budget. The thought was there would always be more workers than retirees. Guess what happened?
Families got smaller and retirees lived longer. Now, entitlements actually consume 60% of our national yearly budget with the bulk of baby boomers close but not yet retired. Where is all this future money needed going to come from? Do the math, 20 million workers not asking for a refund. You really think they are going to export these people or stop the flow?
Places like Las Vegas or Atlantic City would litterly shut down without these people. Go to any golf course, hotel or resteraunt and look around.
I hear a outcry of alot of people against these people working here but I hear few say they would be willing to pay more for the services the illeagles provide.
Your thoughts? How would you solve the loss of income the gov't receives?

In 2003, according to the Arizona Department of Motor Vehicles, 57,600 cars were stolen in Phoenix. It is now the car-jacking capital of the world. Most were SUV’s and pickup trucks. At a conservative average of $15,000.00 per vehicle, owner losses exceeded $864 million. Insurance companies in the state suffered incredible claims from policyholders.

Worse, how would you like to walk out of your home or business to see your car gone? Imagine the hassle, violation of your hard work and disrespect for your well being.

Where did those vehicles go? Who stole them? Take a guess. Arizona is the temporary home of 500,000 illegal aliens. They cost Arizona taxpayers over $1 billion annually in services for schools, medical care, welfare anchor babies, loss of tax base and prisons. Illegals use those vehicles for smuggling more people and drugs from around the world into our country. When the vehicles are recovered, they are smashed-up wrecks in the desert. If not found, they have new owners south of the border as thieves drive the cars through the desert and into Mexico as easily as you drive your kids to soccer practice. THAT’s how porous our borders are!

The chilling costs of illegal migration reach like an octopus into every aspect of our lives. Illegal aliens displaced American workers at a cost in excess of $133 billion dollars last year according to Harvard Professor George Borjas. College and high school kids cannot find a summer job in yard care, landscape, fast food or service jobs. Why? Illegal aliens work them at a third the wage and often, under the table.

Not only do your kids not have jobs; you’re paying taxes for illegal aliens who are not paying taxes.

Annually, 75 percent of drugs arrive from Mexico at a net cost of $120 billion hard currency that leaves our country for good. In addition, our tax dollars pay $80 billion for the War on Drugs each year. It is a war that hasn’t been won in the past 30 years and drugs are as available today to your teenager as they were in 1970.

When an alien criminal gets caught for rape, murder or drug distribution, you pay $1.6 billion annually in prison costs to house, feed and clothe those filling 30 percent of our federal and state prisons—not to mention TV, movies, weight rooms and other entertainment—they enjoy while being incarcerated.

Is your blood boiling at this point? How about illegal alien anchor babies? Over 300,000 women annually arrive pregnant and drop them on U.S. soil. You pay food, housing, medical and schooling for them to age 18 PLUS their mother. According to the Center for Immigration Studies, average annual cost per child K-12 is $7,161.00 and exceeds $109 billion annually per cycle of anchor babies. That’s your money given out to 300,000 moms and their kids annually and all they did was get pregnant and birth that child on U.S. soil.

The average head of household illegal alien costs you $2,700.00 in welfare money over and above any taxes he or she pays in their meager paying jobs. How about the $56 billion in pure cash illegal migrants sent to their home countries last year and every year? That’s after their kids enjoyed free education, free lunches and free medical care paid for by you. Mexico receives $15 billion annually from its worker drones. No wonder Vicente Fox sent us 9.2 million illegal alien Mexicans so far.

The lifetime net fiscal drain—taxes paid minus services used—for an adult immigrant is $55,200.00 according to Carrying Capacity Network. Who makes that money up? You do! Your work! Your taxes!

With a minimum of 15 million illegal aliens in our country, these figures are the tip of the iceberg. Average bilingual education is $1,200.00 per illegal alien student. Get this! We educate 1.1 million illegal alien children each year. Do the math! Ready for another anvil dropped on your toe fact? You paid $27 billion to provide forms, ballots, interpreters and brochures for languages other than English in 2003.

An estimated one-third to one-half illegal aliens work off the books. It costs $200 million to provide for emergency health care for illegal aliens in the Border States annually. California with over three million illegals paid $79 million, BUT four of their major LA hospitals bankrupted and shut their doors in 2004. Texas with 1.5 million illegal aliens paid $74 million in hospital care. Who is Texas? You, the taxpayer, that’s who! Because you, in your state, pay commensurate medical care according to your illegal alien population. Georgia ran a $63 million deficit for 64,000 unpaid doctor visits to their Grady Health Care system in 2002. In the same year, Georgia taxpayers paid $27 million for 11,188 anchor baby hospital births. Georgia taxpayers paid a whopping $242 million for educating illegal alien kids in 2003. What is it in your state?

What are the consequences? One in two adult African-Americans in New York is unemployed. African-American children’s poverty grew by 50 percent since 1999. Why? Their dads can’t find work.

It costs you, the taxpayer, $68 billion a year JUST to pay for the resettlement of legal immigrants.

Fellow Americans, we are $7.384 trillion in debt as of November 1, 2004. This year’s budget deficit exceeds $413 billion. Our trade deficit stands at $400 billion. Tom Ridge, who won’t guard our borders from this invasion, but gets his orders from Bush! Illegals are arriving at over 4,000 per night according to Time Magazine, September 12, 2004, "Who Left the Door Open?" I quote, "That total of illegal aliens flooding into the United States this year will total three million—enough to fill 22,000 737 Boeing airliners, or 60 flights every day for a year." Don’t you think with that many illegals crossing nightly that anyone with a brain would send troops to our border to protect from an invasion? Since we just re-elected the same Congress and president, you can expect more of the same.

You can count on your corporations devouring cheap labor as they send you to the unemployment lines. Additionally, they pay PAC groups to keep senators and congressmen in their back pocket. How do I know? Only 22 companies in 2003 were taken to court for hiring illegal aliens. None went to jail. However, it’s a $10,000.00 fine per illegal alien hired and up to five years in prison. You would think that would deter corporations. Not when they’ve bought off enforcement!

Who else figures in this grand scheme? Your governors and mayors who provide sanctuary laws for illegal aliens! Mayor Bloomberg of New York City.

Governor Baldacci of Maine! Governor Bill Owens of Colorado! Mayor Hickenlooper of Denver! Mayor of Los Angeles! Mayor of San Francisco! Mayor of Chicago! Mayor of Miami! How do I know? All those cities and dozens more give sanctuary to illegal aliens with Special Order 40.

Illegals remain in our country with exemption from arrest—yet, they are federal criminals!

Cristobal Silverio emigrated illegally from Mexico to Stockton, Calif., in 1997 to work as a fruit picker.

He brought with him his wife, Felipa, and three children, 19, 12 and 8 – all illegals. When Felipa gave birth to her fourth child, daughter Flor, the family had what is referred to as an "anchor baby" – an American citizen by birth who provided the entire Silverio clan a ticket to remain in the U.S. permanently.


But Flor was born premature, spent three months in the neonatal incubator and cost the San Joaquin Hospital more than $300,000. Meanwhile, oldest daughter Lourdes married an illegal alien gave birth to a daughter, too. Her name is Esmeralda. And Felipa had yet another child, Cristian.

The two Silverio anchor babies generate $1,000 per month in public welfare funding for the family. Flor gets $600 a month for asthma. Healthy Cristian gets $400. While the Silverios earned $18,000 last year picking fruit, they picked up another $12,000 for their two "anchor babies."

While President Bush says the U.S. needs more "cheap labor" from south of the border to do jobs Americans aren't willing to do, the case of the Silverios shows there are indeed uncalculated costs involved in the importation of such labor – public support and uninsured medical costs.

In fact, the increasing number of illegal aliens coming into the United States is forcing the closure of hospitals, spreading previously vanquished diseases and threatening to destroy America's prized health-care system, says a report in the spring issue of the Journal of American Physicians and Surgeons.

"The influx of illegal aliens has serious hidden medical consequences," writes Madeleine Pelner Cosman, author of the report. "We judge reality primarily by what we see. But what we do not see can be more dangerous, more expensive, and more deadly than what is seen."

According to her study, 84 California hospitals are closing their doors as a direct result of the rising number of illegal aliens and their non-reimbursed tax on the system.

"Anchor babies," the author writes, "born to illegal aliens instantly qualify as citizens for welfare benefits and have caused enormous rises in Medicaid costs and stipends under Supplemental Security Income and Disability Income."

In addition, the report says, "many illegal aliens harbor fatal diseases that American medicine fought and vanquished long ago, such as drug-resistant tuberculosis, malaria, leprosy, plague, polio, dengue, and Chagas disease."

While politicians often mention there are 43 million without health insurance in this country, the report estimates that at least 25 percent of those are illegal immigrants. The figure could be as high as 50 percent.

Not being insured does not mean they don't get medical care.

Under the Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act of 1985, hospitals are obligated to treat the uninsured without reimbursement.

"Government imposes viciously stiff fines and penalties on any physician and any hospital refusing to treat any patient that a zealous prosecutor deems an emergency patient, even though the hospital or physician screened and declared the patient's illness or injury non-emergency," says the report. "But government pays neither hospital nor physician for treatments. In addition to the fiscal attack on medical facilities and personnel, EMTALA is a handy truncheon with which to pummel politically unpopular physicians by falsely accusing them of violating EMTALA."

According to the report, between 1993 and 2003, 60 California hospitals closed because half their services became unpaid. Another 24 California hospitals verge on closure, the author writes.

"American hospitals welcome 'anchor babies,'" says the report. "Illegal alien women come to the hospital in labor and drop their little anchors, each of whom pulls its illegal alien mother, father, and siblings into permanent residency simply by being born within our borders. Anchor babies are citizens, and instantly qualify for public welfare aid: Between 300,000 and 350,000 anchor babies annually become citizens because of the Fourteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution: "All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and the State wherein they reside."

Among the organizations directing illegal aliens into America's medical systems, according to the report, are the Ford Foundation-funded Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund, the National Immigration Law Center, the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the American Bar Association's Commission on Immigration Policy, Practice, and Pro Bono, the Immigrant Legal Resource Center, the National Council of La Raza, George Soros's Open Society Institute, the Migration Policy Institute, the National Network for Immigration and Refugee Rights and the Southern Poverty Law Center.

Because drug addiction and alcoholism are classified as diseases and disabilities, the fiscal toll on the health-care system rises.

When Linda Torres was arrested in Bakersfield, Calif., with about $8,500 in small bills in a sack, the police originally thought it was stolen money, explained the report. It was her Social Security lump sum for her disability -- heroin addiction.

"Today, legal immigrants must demonstrate that they are free of communicable diseases and drug addiction to qualify for lawful permanent residency green cards," writes Cosman, a medical lawyer, who formerly taught medical students at the City University of New York. "Illegal aliens simply cross our borders medically unexamined, hiding in their bodies any number of communicable diseases."

Many illegals entering this country have tuberculosis, according to the report.

"That disease had largely disappeared from America, thanks to excellent hygiene and powerful modern drugs such as isoniazid and rifampin," says the report. "TB's swift, deadly return now is lethal for about 60 percent of those infected because of new Multi-Drug Resistant Tuberculosis. Until recently MDR-TB was endemic to Mexico. This Mycobacterium tuberculosis is resistant to at least two major anti-tubercular drugs. Ordinary TB usually is cured in six months with four drugs that cost about $2,000. MDR-TB takes 24 months with many expensive drugs that cost around $250,000 with toxic side effects. Each illegal with MDR-TB coughs and infects 10 to 30 people, who will not show symptoms immediately. Latent disease explodes later.

TB was virtually absent in Virginia until in 2002, when it spiked a 17 percent increase, but Prince William County, just south of Washington, D.C., had a much larger rise of 188 percent. Public health officials blamed immigrants. In 2001 the Indiana School of Medicine studied an outbreak of MDR-TB, and traced it to Mexican illegal aliens. The Queens, New York, health department attributed 81 percent of new TB cases in 2001 to immigrants. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention ascribed 42 percent of all new TB cases to 'foreign born' people who have up to eight times higher incidences apparently, 66 percent of all TB cases coming to America originate in Mexico, the Philippines and Vietnam."

Other health threats from illegals include, according to the report:

Chagas disease, also called American trypanosomiasis or "kissing bug disease," is transmitted by the reduviid bug, which prefers to bite the lips and face. The protozoan parasite that it carries, Trypanosoma cruzi, infects 18 million people annually in Latin America and causes 50,000 deaths. The disease also infiltrates America's blood supply. Chagas affects blood transfusions and transplanted organs. No cure exists. Hundreds of blood recipients may be silently infected.
Leprosy, also known as Hansen's disease, was so rare in America that in 40 years only 900 people were afflicted. Suddenly, in the past three years America has more than 7,000 cases of leprosy. Leprosy now is endemic to northeastern states because illegal aliens and other immigrants brought leprosy from India, Brazil, the Caribbean and Mexico.
Dengue fever is exceptionally rare in America, though common in Ecuador, Peru, Vietnam, Thailand, Bangladesh, Malaysia and Mexico. Recently, according to the report, there was a virulent outbreak of dengue fever in Webb County, Texas, which borders Mexico. Though dengue is usually not a fatal disease, dengue hemorrhagic fever routinely kills.
Polio was eradicated from America, but now reappears in illegal immigrants as do intestinal parasites, says the report.
Malaria was obliterated, but now is re-emerging in Texas.
The Journal of American Physicians and Surgeons report includes a strong prescription for protecting the health of Americans:

Closing America's borders with fences, high-tech security devices and troops.
Rescinding the U.S. citizenship of "anchor babies."
Punishing the aiding and abetting of illegal aliens as a crime.
An end to amnesty programs.

You obviously have little education on the topic, and NO experience. You've pretty-much used every lame argument there is to justify turning a blind eye to a horde of locusts.
 
The car thefts are not done by people living and working here. The thieves and cars go back to Mexico. We could check the cars papers at the U.S. side of the border but we choose not to. As far a the thieves,hunt them down and kill them.
The drugs brought in you speak of aren't being brought in by my lawn guy but by The Drug Cartel HERE and abrought. Who are these drugs sold to? The answer is your sons, daughters and next door neighbor. If there was no market they would be brought in and the market is us. If you sealed the border would drug useage go away?
Are there welfare frauds or misuse of hospitals? Sure. Go the the emerengy room and look around. What percentage are Mexican vs native born slackers. People that spent their youth dropping out of school, can barely read and write, have no job skills and now compain that they can't find much of a job. The majority of the illeagles I know are extremely hard working people. What do we give them for the taxes they pay?
I live in an area with virtually 0 unemployment. Oh, there are some without jobs, but usually for a reason. They show up 3 days a week, and late the rest of the time. They have no interest in a job, just a place to go to get a check.
I own a small commerical construction company. We preform highly skilled technical work. The people we hire will have a career for life if they are willing to learn and smart enough to be taught. We have little if any turn over. We employee about 50 people. Our pay scale starts at $14.00 for a guy that doesn't yet know how a hammer works and tops out at about $35.00. When you can show me that you can be trusted and have enough knowledge(about 4-5 years) I will buy you a new company pickup. You pick it out and I'll pay for it, gas and insurance. Evening and weekend use it as your own. Just take care of it. And I'll replace it every 3 years.
This isn't a bad job yet a few years ago I needed 5 more people and there was NO one out there. A guys convinced me to fill these positions with Mexicans. I was reluctant but felt like I had little choice. I was probably the best business decision I've made in the 25 years I've had this company. They have the proper documents but I 'm pretty sure they are fake. Its against the law to question the ID or social security card. Do I pay them less? Heck NO. The work ethic these men have incourages me to pay them MORE. I really don't care if I'm paying a guy $200.00 per hour if he can generate more than he costs.I trust these guys and they have earned my respect also. They we at my house for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I consider them friends.Do they send their money back to Mexico? I don't care, its THEIR money.

Mexicans or illegals? If you are knowingly hiring illegals, you are as much a criminal as they are.

The fact is, your argument is not the norm. Illegals bring the wage scale down for those of us competing with them in the job market. Their presence and willingness to work for less is what creates the "jobs a lot of people won't do."

They burden the social infrastructure while contributing nothing to it. They DO send their money back home without paying taxes. That isn't just their busness. That's OUR business since we are burdened with making up what they do not contribute.
 
If you really REALLY want to close the border, use land mines and machine guns. A fence isn't going to make a difference. Turning them back so they can try again tomorrow is a waste of time. Don't complain unless your REALLY willing to take the measures needed close the border.

With their resources and land mass maybe we ought to just make Mexico a new state. In the long run it probably would pay for itself.

My wife and I have spent many wonderful vacations in Mexico. There is great neighborhoods there with expensive houses and sleek automobiles. The doctors, lawyers and business men there aren't the ones swimming the river.

The big difference between us and them is education opportunities and govt. safety nets. There is no free education past 4 grade, no un-employment, social security or other outside sources of help. If you family can't afford to give you medical attention or an education your done before you start.

If I was doing all I could here, still couldn't feed my family, and there was a better way of life or opportunity just the other side of a fence you can bet I'd be for digging a tunnel and going to work.
 
I can't tell you whats "normal" business practices in hiring. I can only tell you what happens here.
If an employer is paying someone "under the table" he is the crook. If your paying some one less than the job or they are worth, its the business owner that is in the wrong. You can legislate ethics.

Those things don't just fall from the sky, l.a. . They exist through the good graces of a productive society.

No, it may not be right in your eyes but I would be willing to do most anything for my wife and kids.

Hey, I'm not the one whining, Benedict. You've obviously justified your practices to yourself. Why are you coming around here, crowing about it? Are you seeking validation - or absolution?

Besides we're getting along way off from my origional post. When this started I was explaining that I'm not just giving them anything, they are receiving it
the old fashioned way, they earn it.
The only thing stopping me from hiring a native born american for this job it work ethic and honesty. Not money.
I'm just explaining a few facts to people that seem to make assumpt without any real knowledge. Just because you've read something somewhere doesn't always mean its true.

My standards are quite irrelevant to the matter. But, someday - in some other realm - you may have to look into the eyes of your as yet unborn descendants, and explain the America you left for them. Will that be a difficult moment for you? Only you can answer that.

Just trying to clear up a little slander. Lots of people want cheap services but at no increase of costs. They have a misconception of REAL business.

Lots of people blame low wages paid on the worker and not on the employer

When we run out of employees lots of people would like to have a company hire a sub-standard native born instead of a qualified illeagle.

Who mowers your lawn? Who washes your car? Who paints your fence? Do you care then?

You seem concerned about my children. I have an acountant, a reconstructive surgeon, a mico-biologist, a school teacher and fireman/emt.
I would prefer they were to compete in their fields because of knowledge and skill and no other reason.
