Houston McCoy, the police officer who shot and killed Walt Whitman during his killing rampage at the U of Texas in Austin died yesterday at 72.

In an interview, he asked that he not be remembered for that act, but, acknowledged he would be, and only requested that all the other heroes that day be mentioned as much as he is and that "teamwork" stopped that sniper, not just him.

Americans are still willing and able to stop killers and threats to our neighbors, just like Houston McCoy did. May he rest in peace, and God Bless his family.
