WE LIVE IN A WORLD GONE MAD (What the heck is happening with those who are defending this country?)

In the post immediately below, Scott recaps some of the recent developments in the Petraeus scandal. I want to add one or two more, and also elaborate a bit on one of the items that Scott mentioned. The most significant of the recent bombshells, I think, is the report that Eric Holder knew about the scandal as of late summer, when the FBI contacted his office to get permission to interview Petraeus and Paula Broadwell. Holder apparently claims that he never mentioned this potentially election-derailing news to his boss and good buddy, Barack Obama.

What is this story really about? It's about a man having an extramarital affair. Using the word "bombshell" to describe it is ironic considering the man's military history.
This story seems to be stratling the line between hard news and tabloid news.

The only reason why this affair is important is because of the use it has is directing attention away from testimony on Benghazi. Otherwise it would be just sex and belong among the parties involved.

Is it really?
Who vetted Petraeus? Who is Jill Kelley and what relationship does she have to General Allen? What is the Nexus between Broadwell, Petraeus, Kelley and Allen? What was the first FBI agent doing sending shirtless photos to Kelley before the investigation?
You're right, If a president can have an affair in the White House and basically walk, and still remain the star of the Democratic Party, what's the problem? Can't our Generals do the same?

These guys are the most elite and powerful of our military. We hold local cops to a "higher standard", we should hold these guys to the HIGHEST possible standard. To abuse the power of a general or CIA head just to have a fling with a younger woman?? What about honor and integrity? I salute and honor our military, but do hold them to a higher standard. Some right wingers have such a worshipping attitude that the military could have a puppy punting contest, and right wingers would adore it as a stress reliever.

You're right! So should our presidents be above reproach. I also class blatant lying by our leaders in the same context. Who shouldn't we hold them responsible for allowing these things? Party leaders, the MSM, or ultimately the PEOPLE. If we are to hold these Generals and officers to higher standards certainly those in the White House should be.
