We don’t want socialized medicine.

We don't want socialized medicine.

What we do want is someone in government making sure that the insurance companies don't fuck us.
So, we'll turn that responsibility over to the people who are running the biggest Ponzi scheme ever known to man?

Yeah, right!

We should just let the insurance companies police themselves.

Afterall, they do have our best interests at heart.

Yes, we should let motorists police themselves too.

I pay over 30K total in health costs as a business owner each year.
The PROBLEM is we have folks that pay nothing for their health care making the decisions.
Group health care is what has ruined American health care. Take the consumerout of the picture and this is what we end up with.
YOU should be responsible for ALL your health costs. Individually. If we went back to that costs would fall drastically.
The insurance companies do not care about costs. They PASS that along to the consumers. If YOU had to pay the doctor then we would not the billions of waste when folks go to the doctor with the common cold. "It is free and I M going to the doctor".
And the bills get run up and inflated and waste is 40% of the entire cost.
I agree with that. All we would really need from a government standpoint is a backstop (like Medicare) that covers the cost of emergency care to those who truly can't afford it. Otherwise, give everyone direct responsibility for their own health care costs through health savings accounts (or something like that) and you'll see costs plummet. Insurance companies are middle men and even the utopian "public option" would be a middle man, but among those middle men, there are even more; and i work for one. This idea would put me out of a job, but it would sure go a very long way in bringing costs down.

Ummm... an employment benefit is not socialized medicine... just as health benefits to other government employees is not socialized medicine

epic fail

A government run healthcare program is not socialized medicine? I'd like to see how much agreement from your fellow conservatives you get on that one.

So a public option would not be socialized medicine?

The government is an employer as well.. and an employment benefit is not socialized health care

Nice try though

The 'public option' is not for government employees as compensation for the work services.. it is an entitlement... and is going into the realm of socialized medicine

That is, without a doubt, the stupidest attempt at analogy I've ever seen anywhere.

WE DON’T WANT SOCIALIZED MEDICINE.

When illegal aliens go into ER and do not pay, that is socialized medicine. When they go to country clinics and receive medical and dental care on a sliding scale, which is subsidized by the government, they are receiving socialized medical care.

We already have many socialized programs and there are working. I am hearing those Village Idiots say they don’t want socialized medical care and at the same time “hands of my Medicare.” They don’t know what the word “socialized” mean. People who are receiving Social Security, SSI, Medicare, Medicare Advantage plans, Medicare prescriptions program, Nevada Drug Card, Medicaid or Medical, WIC, SCHIP and Private Healthcare subsidized by their employer, is receiving Socialized Healthcare and programs. They are getting far more out of these programs than they have put into them. Who is paying the rest? Even Mass Healthcare is subsidized by the Federal Government.

“Socialized” is just a “scare tactic” word used by Radical Right Wingnuts to brainwash and scare Village Idiots in to submission and control.

What’s wrong with the present Healthcare Bill that contains much of what the Right Wingnuts agree on? They do not have their grubby hands in it. The bill do not have to be trashed because much of it is approved by right wingnuts and their supporters Village Idiots.

Most of the people who are against the bill do not even know what is in the bill.

A bi-partisan bill will not be a perfect bill either. Take what we have and make it better if they can. But it will still not be a perfect healthcare bill.

That would depend on your definition of 'socialized medicine'. If by that you mean a public option, then the majority of your fellow citizens disagree with you.

40 thousand people a day die because of unaffordable healthcare is a scare tactic. with these numbers the number of uninsured would run out quickly. 280,000 a week over 12 million a year. that's the total of uninsured if you crunch the numbers of the people who are really uninsured. this is not about insuring the uninsured it is about power!!!!

the people are against this bill and the dems are set on doing what they want and screw the people!!!! here is an idea get the lawmakers to sign on to this healthcare bill and then I will think about joining this doomed program!!!

Absolute control of a thing IS de facto ownership of it. Thus, when the government controls every aspect of the health care industry, they own it.

This is fascism. The facade of nominal private ownership is put forth as more palatable to the public but in reality, is no less menacing. The government is the BRAIN, controlling all functions of the body's industrial parts. The result is socialism in all but name.

We are not fooled.

Those 40,000 are acceptable figures...as long as it isn't someone you know....or you.
