We Don't Need You Guys Anymore!

The conservatism of the last generation is dead. It dies on a regular basis and gets replaced with a new conservatism that is always to the left of where the last generation of conservatism was.

That's the essence of conservatism, an eternal losing battle.

its tough being a conservative nowadays..
We entrusted them to run our country for eight years. All they did was start two wars we can't get out of, drive us into the largest recession in 70 years and destroy our proud reputation around the world. The voters have rightfully driven the conservatives into exile where they still maintin a deathgrip on the republican party

dude i haven't seen a single person here that calls them self a conservative say they fully supported bush.

LOL.......NOW

Saw some serious conservative blowjobs four years ago

As opposed to the liberals who just defended a man getting a blowjob.

Don't stop now....the left keeps going further and further to the left, until we get the likes of obama. I'm not saying your wrong in your post, because you are right, but the left is doing the same thing...yet it was unmentioned...so I thought I would help you out.
We are going to end up as a socialist nation....not the best thing to be as the most powerful nation on Earth.

I've wondered why any of us thinks we need people who identify themselves as liberals in this country when a majority of Americans identify themselves as conservative. I'm tired of convincing the last of the Liberal like they are some important political force in our country that we must convince to vote with us. Its no longer important and all other parties outside the democrats should just move on with their agenda without them because they are not needed anymore.

A majority of Americans don't identify themselves as conservatives. About a third do.

60% of this nation consider themselves to be conservative. It's really very easy--these are working class people who pay their bills--balance a home budget & make ends meet--aka conservative.

Liberals in this country represent a minut fraction of people in this country--I believe less than 10%. They believe in wealth redistribution.

The difference between a liberal & conservative:

While a liberal is typically concerned about how to distribute the eggs that the Golden Goose lays--a conservative is typically concerned about the health of the Golden Goose.--

Whassup BGG?

It means that the GOP did not win one single demographic group whose numbers are climbing. As America becomes less white, the GOP will likely become more of a regional party.

The only reason the GOP stands to gain seats in 2010 is because their main demographics (whites and older people) tend to vote in greater numbers in off year elections.

It was amusing that the OP seemed to think it was liberals who weren't "needed".

That being said, I'm still getting used to this forum, and I guess I'm posting some things that I wish I could have posted in that unnamed forum I used to post in. I always thought that forum made me sound much more partisan than I actually am. I'm not really anti conservative, I'm more anti bigmouthed blowhard... anyone care for some... Spinach?

Doug

No its because you guys suck at a lot of things and voters know it.

Sorry...hope
The results are not showing it.
Your political position has been driven into political exile in the last two elections. They have no platform, no candidates and no funding. We entrusted them with our country for eight years and they fucked up big time

Going to be a long time before your boys get another chance

What results? LOL

You guys rip the Bush years despite having low unemployment and a much lower deficit than we do now. You say it will be a while before the people trust the GOP again well has it every crossed your mind that the current democrats that doubled unemployment and qaudrupled the deficit won't suffer the same fate?

Over 60% of the country is conservative and less than 10% are liberals? What shitty poll did you get those numbers from?

There is no way this country can be described as conservative when we have huge majorities in both the house and senate plus a president who won a freaking electoral landslide.

You all who are claiming that because a gallup poll says something like that, it must mean that you will win the next election are just not thinking this through. It's wishful thinking on your part.

Need?

What terribly confused thinking the above exhibits.

You are under the mistaken impression that "liberals" need somebody like you?

Why would "liberals" need you to convince them of anything?

Its no longer important and all other parties outside the democrats should just move on with their agenda without them because they are not needed anymore.

Yes, all other parties outside of the Democrats should move on with their agenda. I quite agree.

Meanwhile the Dems will, no doubt, move on with their agenda.

We call all this moving on, politics, by the way.

In polls, roughly 30%-40% identify themselves as conservative. About 20%-25% identify themselves as conservative Republicans. 20%-25% identify themselves as liberals. How you identify them is irrelevant.

Look Ihope....when things don't go your way, you do dot get to just make things up.

Unemployment has gone up 2% since Obama....the other 7.8% belonged to Bush. Going from 7.8% to 9.8% is not doubling unemployment. Where did you go to school?
Bush Doubled the deficit from $5.5 trillion to $11 trillion....Obama has added $1.5 trillion

Quadrupling the deficit would mean a $44 trillion deficit.....where do you get your numbers other than making things up?

Don't let the facts get in the way of your story, Sarah.

CNSNews.com - Conservatives Now Outnumber Liberals in All 50 States, Says Gallup Poll

i would imagine the 35% moderate are democratic voting constituants....if they were conservative, they would have said such....

i consider myself a moderate, and am a registered democrat...

so the 21% that are far left=liberal
the 35% moderate equals mostly democrats;;;

that's 56% of the country, moderate/liberals, or democrats...

the libertarians would associate themselves as conservative, these days, imo...

and the greens associate themselves as liberals, imo....but democratic leaning.

i believe about 30% of the 40% conservatives are republicans and 10% are probably libertarians or some limited far right wingers such as white supremacists that do vote republican on the national level, again, for the most part and imo.

You are assuming that all 35% of moderates are democrats, and that isn't being realistic, Care. There are a lot of republicans (27%) that say they aren't conservatives.

But, she noted, 73 percent of Republicans call themselves conservative..

Some of you cons do not know how to properly frame questions because you refuse to think critically.

The great majority of conservatives today are worried about their own financial and economic health, not the Golden Goose or uber-conservative philosophy.

The great majority of conservatives today do believe in some regulation. Otherwise, the 60% would have changed that some time ago.

The great majority of conservatives today are horrified by the ihef and rabontherun and the other bozo political philosophies of those like them on this forum. The typical Republican today will have almost nothing to do with the teabaggers, rightfully so.

The question is then: how much and what type of regulation of the health insurance industry, not whether it should be regulated.

Health insurance reform is almost here, and you guys can't stop it.

The Germans didnt like the Jews, the commies didnt like non-commies. These groups resorted to mass murder to rid themselves of groups they disagreed with. Is this a possibility in your world of NO MORE LIBERALS ???

Heil Hitler

Your question has been answered on several other threads in the last few months.
Yes, healthcare reform is almost here, and we can't stop it. I don't think there are too many conservatives that don't want any kind of reform. But, conservatives, unlike you want the right reform, and you, and liberals will accept any kind of reform whether it's the right, or wrong reform. Therein lies the difference. There are more ways to healthcare reform than the public option, Jake. But, the liberals don't want any part of that in Congress. There have been many suggestions made by the republicans that the liberals don't even want to address. They don't have to, because the have the majorities. But, they can't even get the 60 senate votes that democrats have to pass a public option, and probably will have to resort to the nuclear option.
If it comes down to a nuclear option, I am willing to bet that there will be a lot of changes with the guard in the House and Senate next year.
