We Don’t Need No Flaming Sparky Cars, Rats Jumping Edition

Somehow, I thought the car of the future would be way cooler...

Dumb looking vehicle. Wasted space all over the vehicle. Probably would have handled like a 1950's pig. Here is a car that handles well, 0 to 60, 1.9 seconds. 0 to 100 in 4 seconds. 8.8 quarter mile. 250+ mph top end. All for only $250,000. 600 miles per charge. And that is the base model.

That is what a real roadster looks like.

Unless you run the heater, then it's 400 miles per charge
AC? Same.
Lights? cut down on that milage?
Radio? Same.
Kids watching videos in the back? It counts against the milage.

Or worse, trying to stay warm while being stuck on the road during a snow storm....Like in this year in March during Europe`s cold snap and the Military was sent to rescue drivers. If you were in an electric car you would be a popsicle by the time they get to you. Where I live there are many roads where it`s over 400 miles just to get to the next gas station but that`s no problem in a Ford E150 van and dual tanks
And with the batteries that we will have by 2025, that will not be a problem for EV's either.

When the battery can be charged as quickly as filling up a tank of gas, then EV's will be ready.

until then. meh.

Those batteries are already being made in the lab. Several different varieties of them. Many with much higher power density and longer cycle life. They are being moved into the manufacturing stage as we post. By 2025, they will be in EV's, and many other applications.

Tesla is breaking even now. Wall Street gives it a high value based on future expectations. It's cold hard hedge fund managers assigning such value, and not greenies.

The stock price drop? That's due to Musk's dopey statement about taking Tesla private. Musk does some smart things and dumb things. SpaceX and Tesla are smart. Hyperloop and The Boring Company are stupid.

The marketing of the Tesla driver assist is also stupid. It's not an autopilot, but they call it an autopilot, leading people to use it like an autopilot, which causes crashes. Self-driving cars are the biggest scam technology of the moment. They're not impossible, but they're not even close, and they're pulling in lots of cash from suckers who think they're the next big goldmine.

Tesla is losing money, everybody knows that. The only money Musk makes is from selling tax credits or finding more investors.

Estimated August passenger car sales from Goodcarbadcar.net indicate that only four passenger car models sold better than the Tesla Model 3 in August. Those cars were only from Honda and Toyota. They were the Toyota Camry, Honda Civic, Honda Accord and Toyota Corolla.

This was at the 5000 car per week level for the Model 3. If the Model 3 reaches 7000 cars per week then it will be the second best selling car model. It would only be behind the Toyota Camry. If the Model 3 reaches 8000 cars per week then it will become the top selling car in the USA.

1st in terms of revenue.

Says who? goodcarbadcar? Not Motor Trend? Not Consumer Reports? It is not reported by anybody we have ever heard of? Goodcarbadcar? Anybody can make a joke website and report fake news. Either way, the article fails to point out that they left out General Motors! The article also does not state if the cars were delivered or if they even worked!

Here is a link showing that Tesla is shipping sub-standard, low quality cars!
Some new Tesla cars are being delivered with flaws, and owners say getting them fixed is a painful process
