fine and continue to work, Jim Acosta proved that. Also:

"KUSI offered our own Dan Plante, who has reported dozens of times on the border, including one story from 2016 that was retweeted by former Speaker of the House, Newt Gingrich, and posted on DrudgeReport.com," it continues while linking to a border fence tour report.

"We believe CNN declined a report from KUSI because we informed them that most Border Patrol Agents we have spoken to told us the barrier does in fact work," it concludes. "We have continuously been told by Border Patrol Agents that the barrier along the Southern border helps prevent illegal entries, drugs, and weapons from entering the United States, and the numbers prove it."

we have walls and natural barriers so why do we need a new wall for billions of bucks, answer,

WE DON'T.

So, this seems to reinforce that we DO need a wall along portions of the border that do not have a wall. This section works. No?

Apparently they work just fine, and natural barriers work as well.

So we should extend the wall where we do not have one.

Too match the existing, and where do we not have a wall, we have 700 miles of wall at present.
Should be much less than 5.7 billion , rounding up to 6 billion not 5 billion.

Uh oh. Could it be that Acosta is mistaken?

On the same day that CNN Chief White House Correspondent Jim Acosta posted his report from McAllen, Texas assuring Americans that there wasn’t “anything resembling a national emergency situation,” at least not there, very different reports were coming out of a Mexican border town just a few hours northwest: Authorities found 21 bodies, some burned, after what appears to be yet another clash between rival drug cartel gangs.

So the wall kept them on the Mexico side, what I see that there is not need for a new wall. I might ask , what the hell do you care about gang members??? Just wondering.

Because of gang members who enter the US illegally. If they are at the border it stands to reason they are trying to cross it. The wall needs to be extended to keep them out. There is no reason in import more criminals. Why don't you care that people are being harmed by gang members? Just wondering.

Here's just one example of illegal gang members who should not have gotten into the US>

Gaston County police say they arrested three illegal aliens with $200,000 worth of methamphetamine in their possession.

Christian Cabrea-Rivas, 36, Silvia Hernandez-Iturralde, 29 and Marco Tulio Ramos Garcia, 35 were taken into custody on Monday, Jan. 7 after authorities found them in possession of two kilograms of meth.

Police say several children were present during the drug bust. They have since been taken into protective custody.

All three suspects were charged with trafficking methamphetamine by the Gaston County Police Department. Hernandez-Iturralde and Garcia are being held under a $250,000 bond. Garcia also had an outstanding deportation order when he was arrested, and is under an immigration hold as well.

Cabrea-Rivas is being held on a $275,000 bond and an immigration hold. He is a documented member of the street gang MS-13, and has an extensive criminal history.

In December 2018, he was arrested in Mecklenburg County for an assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, assault by pointing a gun, communicating threats and possession of a stolen gun.

"We've seen growing use of self-propelled semi-submersibles (SPSSs) - low-profile vessels made out of marine-grade plywood [and] fibreglass with commercial engines. The smugglers spend up to a $1m (£665,000) to build one of these SPSSs for what is often just a one-way voyage.

"With my international and area agency coalition, I have more situational awareness of the movement of drugs than I have operational assets. So to me, it is a resource problem. We're being very effective with the capabilities we have, but I could use more ships and more aircraft.

"Just because we are unable to stop all the drugs moving doesn't mean we are losing this fight. My goal is to go after the priority networks who rival the capabilities of nation states. We need to knock down these cartels. Until we do that we have much more work to do."

"This particular tunnel was over 600 metres long at 40 feet under the surface. It had lighting, a mechanism to circulate the air and a railway system so they could load the product in Mexico and run it down the rails to the exit point. They used a pulley system to pull the narcotics up into the warehouse.

"We've seen a variety of clever attempts to disguise entrances, everything from pool tables, electric panels, hydraulic bathtubs, elevators. We saw an exit point in the US where each time they came through the opening, they filled it with concrete, painted it and re-carpeted it. That's attention to detail.

"We have had success in locating sophisticated cross-border tunnels, but to put it into perspective, since 2006 we have only found 11. We consider [the tunnels] a national security threat, and each time they complete one, our hope is that we identify it and take it out of business before it can be used."

How did they get the drugs?? Were they thrown over the wall or come by boat or through the port of entry??

The point is that these illegal criminals and the illegal activity they do should not be imported into this country. A wall at the border is one way to help enforce the law. The drugs are coming into this country. In addition to bringing drugs on their person over the border on dry land, sure, they could ship drugs by boat too. They probably ship M13 gang members in a boat too. That needs to stop. Why are you against efforts to stop illegal activity ?

Present wall and natural barriers are not enough. It is not a NEW wall idiot is it additional wall with additional agents. A fence is not a wall and there are areas that have no barriers. Doesn't matter if it's more wall or more agents they will still come and they want to be caught and they are still being released and go into the shadows until the next amnesty or anchor baby. Nothing will matter and nothing will change if our immigration laws are not enforced. Majority recent illegals caught have been released. Trump has two years to fix the nightmare and if he don't we are screwed.

A wall and barriers or more agents will not stop this but enforcing our immigration laws and new immigration laws that deal with visa overstayers and more deportations will....These are the kind of people the Democrats are protecting...

I am against wasting money on the wall, but reality is Mexico violence that is fueled with money from China, Iran, and Russia should be a concern and should be dealt with harshly.

Those like you believe there is no issue with illegals entering our nation but as seen many illegals are either victims or criminals that prey on other illegals.

So what is your solution Penelope?

How do cartels get drugs into the US?

A recent report from the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) said that drug overdoses kill more people in the US than car accidents or guns. Some deaths are through prescription drugs, others by cocaine or, increasingly, heroin.

Many of these drugs are smuggled in large volumes by drug cartels from the fields of South America past the thousands of patrol officers who guard the US border.
