Trump has the balls to say this and stake his position. Sanders, on the other hand, is backing off. The once proud and avoid Socialist is now saying he’s “a Democrat Socialist”. Why water it down? If you believe that the US should be Socialist, then goddamnit, sell the American People on it!

Sander's believes in social programs and different from socialism. He is also a capitalist.
I believe in a few social programs but not all and certainly not all Bernie is proposing.

Not a Bernie fan, But he has ALLWAYS said he a Democratic Socialist. and what is Trump saying? that he should run everything, that he is the head of everything, is that a King or a dictatorship being promoted?

I'd support increased taxes to cover spending and no new programs.
Bernie would spend way more than he takes in from taxes.
Medicare for all
Green New Deal
Nationalize utilities
Open borders
Boston Bomber and others in prison vote
New Way Forward Act
Paris Climate Agreement (US pays $trillions to poor countries)

But it looks like from his site, I had to look up yesterday because people were quoting 56% tax increase on someone making $40,000 on FB, and his actual tax proposal does't increase tax rates until $250,000 anything below is exactly the same rate as today.

The biggest problem is he is relying on lawsuits, unrealistic increases due to unrealistic job expansions that rely on lawsuits.
In other words he is buying votes with taxpayer money from those that don't understand basic economics but only see the word free.
Then he blasts Bloomberg for buying votes with private money.

socialists dont like at the way you acquired your wealth and distinguish between good and bad, it is wealth itself that's the problem, according to them!

if poverty can be conquered by simply passing a law, it would have been conquered a long time ago, my friends!

We have developed into a social democracy.

"Democratic socialism does not pursue a model like Finland, for instance, which has not done away with capitalist ways of production or a private market.

The key difference between democratic socialism and social democracy is precisely that the former advocates for social ownership of the means of production, and does not believe in reforms within capitalism (although it does support temporary social democratic actions), but in a revolution of the system.

The platform Sanders is running on is reformist, and what he is proposing is a US that looks much more like Canada, or Europe—which certainly are not socialist nations"

Bernie Sanders isn’t a democratic socialist. He is a social democrat

Why Sanders brands himself a democratic socialist remains unclear. It might be, as some have noted, because of a desire to shock.
