The Democratic Party needs to stop the refrain of "ain't Trump awful" and speak directly to our citizens on what they feel needs to be changed, why, and what will replace it.

Trump may have all but destroyed the Republican Party, with the obvious help of the NRA and Ryan's Tax Fraud. But, the constant attack on Trump, Ryan, McConnell and the Republican Party is a refrain that falls on deaf ears, most American's want to see a Congress which works together and is not ideological, a Congress to define our problems, explain their etiology and means to mitigate or resolve them for We the People.

A Congress that opens its session with the reading of the Preamble to our Constitutution, and making clear to each member their duty is to seek to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity.

Trump did not destroy the GOP, he redefined it. It is the other party that was destroyed and as you suggest, are desperately trying to redefine themselves beyond being snowflakes upset with Trump.

If Dems don't vote, they deserve everything they get - which will be lose most of what they've worked for.

The problem is even if Democrats do vote, it will likely have no effect.

Democrats must defend too many seats in the Senate – some 25 – in addition to flipping Republican held seats.

And in House races, as usual, the gerrymandered districts in red states will offset any increase in Democratic votes.

Indeed, Democrats will win neither the House nor Senate this November.

Democrats need to go back to basics and start winning local state elections, take control of state governments, if they hope to consistently win mid-term and General Elections.

They are the party supports terrorists over Americans, socialism, taxes, illegals, etc.

The Democratic Party need not remake itself, it simply needs to define problems, tell the truth, and explain how they plan to fix what is broken.

If you think the democrats are going to start telling the truth, Hold your breath.

That you make this claim ^^^, and don't even mention Trump's mendacity, means you are out of touch with reality.

Any vote for a democrat is a vote to end the 2nd Amendment.

The democrats are not hiding this anymore, they stated it at the CNN town hall, they marched in D.C shouting this, and their former Supreme Court justice called for repealing the 2nd Amendment.....they are not hiding this anymore...so any vote for a democrat is a vote to end the 2nd Amendment and your ability to protect your family.

Any vote for a democrat is a vote to end the 1st Amendment.

That is really funny.....the democrats don't want to do any of those 3 things....that isn't how they get their power...

Some GOP not running are because they can't win. They don't support Trump. Flake McCain are examples. #neverTrump since day1. DemWitts have control now. 2% taxccut for rich was the last minute Schumer swindle for high tax blue states. Keep spinning, while DJT keeps winning.

The opposing party often does better in midterm elections so Democrats will likely make gains, how much remains to be seen. Trump is a polarizing figure and voters rejecting him could benefit Democrats.

The Democratic party definitely needs to counter Trump's fake populism with their own populist message to appeal to independents and energize their base.

That Americans cling to this political pendulum of futility is telling of our collective comprehension

I don't want them to define it. Identify the issues, yes. However, when they attempt to define it they miss the mark. Hell, reading the bills is clearly too much to ask.

Most members of Congress who vote on a bill never read it, they receive an executive summary and a note from their party leader how they are expected to vote (or a threat from the party whip if resist).

Definitions are important, they allow all parties in a discussion to be on the same page. In Copi's Intro to Logic Chapter 4 offers five purposes of Definition:
  1. To increase vocabulary
  2. To eliminate ambiguity
  3. To clarify meaning
  4. To explain theoretically
  5. To influence attitudes
