To be sitting in our warm homes, with fresh water and food in our reach, aren't we?
Yes we ARE. Anyone who doesn't believe that ought to try being homeless---for whatever reason. Earthquake. Finances. Floods. Hurricanes.
Whatever the reason, losing your home and belongings is a traumatic experience and it stays with you forever. Been through it recently. Still working through the trauma.
Everyone be grateful for all you have! It could change in an instant...Mother Nature is quite fickle.
Also damned lucky that our ancestors had the good sense to leave the despotic hell holes they were living in, to give us a fighting chance at such luck.
Must be true. The wife said I was going to get real lucky tonight. I think I better run down and buy a lotto ticket.
Yes we are My son wants to help out in Haiti during his winter break in March I think it will still be bad then Its horrible. I can't look at anymore pictures.
I have always known that we are a blessed nation, and that it was not luck that got us here in this lucky position.
Being blessed or just lucking out, it doesn't matter, I am safe, and grateful, to all who made this great nation possible
Its not an accident that many Americans equate fortune with virtue, but it is unfortunate.
