No surprise...government and big pharm making big bucks off of making people sick so they need medicine the rest of the lives. We do fluoride free!

How a country defines ADHD is relevant as well.

Why French Kids Don t Have ADHD Psychology Today

"In the United States, at least 9 percent of school-aged children have been diagnosed with ADHD, and are taking pharmaceutical medications. In France, the percentage of kids diagnosed and medicated for ADHD is less than .5 percent. How has the epidemic of ADHD—firmly established in the U.S.—almost completely passed over children in France?

Is ADHD a biological-neurological disorder? Surprisingly, the answer to this question depends on whether you live in France or in the U.S. In the United States, child psychiatrists consider ADHD to be a biological disorder with biological causes. The preferred treatment is also biological—psycho stimulant medications such as Ritalin and Adderall.

French child psychiatrists, on the other hand, view ADHD as a medical condition that has psycho-social and situational causes. Instead of treating children's focusing and behavioral problems with drugs, French doctors prefer to look for the underlying issue that is causing the child distress—not in the child's brain but in the child's social context. They then choose to treat the underlying social context problem with psychotherapy or family counseling. This is a very different way of seeing things from the American tendency to attribute all symptoms to a biological dysfunction such as a chemical imbalance in the child's brain.

French child psychiatrists don't use the same system of classification of childhood emotional problems as American psychiatrists. They do not use the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders or DSM. According to Sociologist Manuel Vallee, the French Federation of Psychiatry developed an alternative classification system as a resistance to the influence of the DSM-3. This alternative was the CFTMEA (Classification Française des Troubles Mentaux de L'Enfant et de L'Adolescent), first released in 1983, and updated in 1988 and 2000. The focus of CFTMEA is on identifying and addressing the underlying psychosocial causes of children's symptoms, not on finding the best pharmacological bandaids with which to mask symptoms."

"Fluoride chemicals are not included in the list [of 'chemicals for drinking water treatment']. This is due to ethical as well as medical considerations." (Louis Sanchez, Directeur de la Protection de l'Environment, August 25, 2000)."
Statements from European Health Environment Authorities on Fluoridation

"Israel reverses its decision to fluoridate

On 29 July 2013 in an important decision that was not widely reported in the Western World's media, the Supreme Court of Israel ruled that Israel (previously 70%) must stop adding fluoride to its public water supplies within one year.

Why is water fluoridation harmful?

Fluorine is an exceptionally dangerous chemical, with fluorides being more toxic than lead and only slightly less toxic than arsenic. Fluoridation is one of the great frauds of the 20th century. Published research shows that a build up of fluorides in the body are responsible for many modern diseases. Here are details on why fluorides are so dangerous, and how to reduce the level of fluorides in your body."
Israel bans the use of fluoride in tap water

Does seem to be a consensus floruide is harmful given 90% or so of the world bans it in water supplies.

If your child swallows toothpaste that has fluoride in it - the warning label tells you to contact poison control. Why? Because fluoride is a poison. Best solution? Use well water - bottled water - do not buy fluoride water and do not use fluoride toothpaste. Use something natural that is fluoride free.

Yep. We use Tom's toothpaste...for the kids and us. We also used well water but the city just installed new water pipes and we will be hooking on to the city water supply soon and we have started using bottled water....

Do you know why the government puts fluoride in the public water supply?

It's not that they hate you, they just hate your cats. If you would simply keep your cats in the house it wouldn't have to come to these drastic measures.

In a sane nation, fluoride would be banned for human consumption.
Americans are exposed to numerous chemicals everyday. Is it any wonder we are so sick...and big pharma has a pill for every ailment.

They are not harming my cats. I anoint my cats with anointing oil and pray over them. They are in great health. Another word about fluoride - for those who are city dwellers and are Christians, cannot afford to move and concerned about fluoride. You are to bless everything you drink and everything you eat. When you do this? The LORD will protect you and keep your bodies healthy. No matter what you drink, what kind of toothpaste you use, what kind of food you eat - although one shouldn't put God to any foolish tests. (that is a sin) So be sure to bless everything you eat and bless everything you drink. Do all that you do to the glory of God and He will take care of you. God is in full control. Above all else, God is always in full control (Don't get into fear about it).

Adderall abuse on the increase...

Study: Adderall abuse skyrockets among young adults
Feb. 17, 2016 - Researchers found nonmedical use and emergency room visits have increased significantly while treatment visits for prescriptions have remained either stable or decreased during the last decade.
While prescriptions for Adderall to treat children and adults with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, or ADHD, have stayed relatively flat, researchers found the number of people abusing the drugs or seeking treatment at emergency rooms has increased significantly in recent years. A recent study at Johns Hopkins University found Adderall is increasingly being used as a study aid and for other nonmedical uses at because people think the drug does not pose health risks. Adderall is a stimulant containing salts from amphetamine and dextroamphetamine, and is one of a group of similar drugs used to treat people with ADHD, as well as narcolepsy. The drug also includes increased risk for sleep disruption and increased risk for depression, bipolar disorder, aggressive or hostile behavior, and high blood pressure and stroke.

The researchers found young adults between the ages of 18 and 25 are obtaining the drug from family or friends and using it at much greater rates as study aids or for other purposes without considering its health risks. "Many of these college students think stimulants like Adderall are harmless study aids," Ramin Mojtabai, a professor of mental health at Johns Hopkins, said in a press release. "But there can be serious health risks and they need to be more aware." For the study, published in the Journal of Clinical Psychiatry, researchers analyzed survey data collected between 2006 and 2011 as part of the National Disease and Therapeutic Index, National Survey on Drug Use and Health, and the Drug Abuse Warning Network.

Non-prescribed use of Adderall by young adults went up by 67 percent and associated emergency room visits rose by 156 percent, according to new research on the widely-prescribed medication for ADHD treatment.

The data showed the number of treatment visits for adolescents under age 18 for dextroamphetamine-amphetamine and methylphenidate, both marketed under other names for ADHD and other conditions, has decreased over time. Among the group, nonmedical use of dextroamphetamine-amphetamine stayed stable, nonmedical use of methylphenidate dropped by more than half, and ER visits remained about the same. In adults between the ages of 18 and 25, however, nonmedical use of dextroamphetamine-amphetamine increased by 67.1 percent and ER visits went up by 155.9 percent. Treatment visits for the drug, however, remained about the same. Among both age groups, the source for Adderall for nonmedical use was family and friends, two-thirds of which had legitimate prescriptions from a doctor.

While researchers note in the study that prescription trends for stimulants do not always match trends for nonmedical use or hospital visits, they said future studies should focus on risk factors and motivations for people using the drugs, as well as for why people given the prescriptions by doctors distribute them to other people. "[The study] suggests that the main driver of misuse and emergency room visits related to the drug is the result of diversion -- people taking medication that is legitimately prescribed to someone else," said Dr. Lian-Yu Chen, a former student at Johns Hopkins and now a researcher at National Taiwan University Hospital. "Physicians need to be much more aware of what is happening and take steps to prevent it from continuing."

Half of teens at ER report peer violence, cyberbullying
Feb. 18, 2016 - Just under a quarter of teens surveyed during the study reported symptoms consistent with PTSD, though few had been treated for the condition.
Nearly half of teens who go to the emergency room report peer violence and cyberbullying, and one-quarter have symptoms consistent with post-traumatic stress disorder, according to a new study. The study, conducted at Hasbro Children's Hospital in Rhode Island, found emergency room care did not screen for PTSD except in cases of clear physical trauma -- which researchers said could be allowing teens in need of mental health to fall through the cracks. Previous studies have suggested ERs screen adolescents and teens for psychiatric disorders, though researchers said there is a lack of knowledge on how PTSD manifests itself in teens because of bullying, violence and neighborhood exposure to alcohol and drugs.

One pediatrician's group, the American Association of Pediatrics, issued a recommendation in January that all children be screened every year for depression starting at age 11, at least partially because of the rise in suicides among adolescents in recent years. The recommendation lines up with the new study, which found few of the teens who reported PTSD symptoms had received any kind of mental health treatment in the preceding year. "Existing literature on PTSD in adolescent emergency patients describes its development after an acute assault or motor vehicle crash," Dr. Megan Ranney, a researcher at Hasbro Children's Hospital and professor at Brown University, said in a press release. "But, this study highlights the need for improved efforts at more standardized mental health evaluation, possibly even screening for PTSD regardless of the reason for a teen's visit to the emergency department."

Researchers suggest all teens seeking care at emergency rooms be screened for depression considering how many reported exposure to abuse or other emotionally traumatic situations and symptoms typical of PTSD.

For the study, published in General Hospital Psychiatry, researchers surveyed 353 adolescents between the ages of 13 and 17 seeking care at the emergency room between August 2013 and March 2014 using validated self-report measures to track mental health symptoms, violence exposure, and risky behavior. Among the teenagers, 46.5 percent reported physical peer violence, 46.7 percent reported cyberbullying, and 58.9 percent reported exposure to community violence. Many of the exposures, reactions and symptoms described by teenagers during the surveys were consistent with PTSD, researchers reported. Nearly a quarter of the teenagers -- 23.2 percent -- reported symptoms of PTSD, with 13.9 percent having moderate or higher depressive symptoms and 11.3 percent contemplating suicide in the previous year.

The researchers said the study sheds light on far greater numbers of teens suffering from PTSD who are not diagnosed or treated, which increases the risk for negative long-term impacts on quality of life, among other effects. "These results should serve as a reminder to parents, schools and physicians that these problems are prevalent in our community," Ranney said. "This study also highlights that teens with a history of cyberbullying or peer violence are more likely to have PTSD, which is a very treatable disease if properly identified and addressed."

Maybe we are just to stupid to know we are overmedicating those kids.

You know...the same science that promotes this is also what promotes vaccinations.

Smoking during pregnancy linked to ADD, ADHD...

Scientists Find Biological Link Between Smoking Mothers, Attention Disorders
June 01, 2016 - Nicotine exposure during pregnancy can trigger long-term genetic changes in unborn babies, according to Yale-led research
Need a good reason to quit smoking during pregnancy, aside from the prospect of cancer, lung and heart disease, stillbirth, infertility, and low birth weight? In what could have far-reaching implications for treatment, scientists at Yale University have found that nicotine exposure during pregnancy can trigger long-term genetic changes in unborn babies. These newfound genetic changes help explain why maternal smoking has been linked to a host of behavioral issues, such as ADHD.

Nicotine and genetics

Population studies have previously shown that smoking in pregnant women appeared to increase the risk of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, or ADHD, in children. This new research is the first time scientists have discovered the biological pathway that causes the increased risk. The study was done by Yale investigators and is published in Nature Neuroscience. Marina Picciotto, a professor of psychiatry at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, is the paper's senior author. Picciotto says there's a critical point in fetal brain development that appears to be affected by nicotine exposure.

A woman and child walk past a "No Smoking" sign. A Yale-led study has found that nicotine exposure during pregnancy can trigger long-term genetic changes in unborn babies.

For the study, mice were tested to see if nicotine changes the way fetal brains develop. "If we expose mice to nicotine during the same window of brain development that is affected in utero in humans," she asked, "can we see changes in the brain? And the answer is yes, we see very long-lasting changes of the nerve cells of the cortex." In addition, she told VOA, these changes in the neurons were maintained even in adult mice.

Brains and behavior

And how do those changes in the brains of mice affect their behavior? After exposure to nicotine, the mice appear to have ADHD, according to Picciotto. Normal mice, she says, usually ignore a very mild foot shock. But the nicotine-affected mice, "they just actually pay attention. They are paying attention to a stimulus that is normally screened out." Investigators also are looking at whether the same genetic pathways are involved in Asperger's syndrome and autism, which can severely impact attention and executive functioning. So far, Picciotto says, there's no evidence of that.

Potential treatment

Once pediatricians (as opposed to psychiatrists) were allowed to prescribe ADHD meds, the number of cases increased markedly. Incompetent teachers + helicopter parents = higher incidence of "diagnosis" of ADHD in kids.

A drugged student is easier to handle.

Akin to our central government preferring a drugged citizenry, so they can commit their criminal acts with little opposition.

Given how far Trump has come, I could almost agree with you.

Factually, however, state by state Utah has twice the number of citizens on antidepressants as California.

Draw your own conclusions.

Between the lifelong coddling of Millennials and the fact that The Donald said he could shoot someone in Midtown Manhattan and all of his followers said "Fuck, yeah!" what else am I supposed to believe? :dunno:

Does fluoride still turn people's brains to mush and allows communists to take over the brain? That was indeed scary.
