[quoteWhat does gay marriage have to do with marrying one's brother?

][/quote]

What reasoning can be applied to redefining marriage to include gay marriage that is not applicable to polygamy and incest.

This was NOT ridicule.....but a very serious question.....please provide a serious answer...

What does gay marriage have to do with marrying one's brother?

What does gay marriage have to do with marrying one's three favorite women?

....any more than straight marriage does, that is. Why even bring those up? A serious question right back at you.

It has to do with being...as you say...a "second class citizen"....

...these people can claim to be treated as "second class citizens" also...just like gays claim...

...these people have just as valid reasons for getting married as any gay person does....don't they?

And they supposed have just as valid reasons for getting married as any straight person does...don't they?

Easy...Polygamy and incest are illegal...being gay is not.

Your answer is non-responsive. Being gay is not illegal, and neither is having relations with multiple women, and, in some places, incest is permitted. That is a far cry from conferring a preferred status on those relationships. By what reasoning should state's give marital benefits to consenting gays but not to consenting polygamists? Or incestuous relations. Marriage is nothing more than the recognition that some relationships are more beneficial to society than others. If you want gays to marry, why not allow trios and cousins as well? Why should one type of relationship receive preferential treatment that others do not?

ThePickledPunk, you just showed the inherent hypocrisy with the pro-gay-marriage argument. Asserting that marriage essentially has no social function beyond equalizing couples under the law, while also denying polygamous and other forms of couples, from having the same "right" is totally hypocritical.

It's just amazing how people complain about conservatives drawing a line in the sand and only supporting marriage between a man and a woman, but then they call it "equality" to include two men and two women. No, that's just a different line. It's still inclusive to one some, and exclusive to others.

QBall- the very idea that everyone and everything is not equal is abhorrent to libs in general. So much of their foolishness derives from this premise.

early returns give the edge to the NO on 1 campaign.

I look forward to performing same sex marriages in my sanctuary before Christmas!

Sure they do....IF we follow your line of reasoning about being "second class" citizens....

However....you said they don't have as valid a claim to get married as gays....because polygamy and incest are against the law.....well....homosexuality used to be against the law too....so that argument does not really hold up....

So it seems you must also accept all those other "weird" variations if you hold true to your "equality" argument....why should polygamists and incestuous brothers remain "second class" citizens? ...what makes you more "equal" than they?

If you believe in drawing the line in the sand somewhere against the insanity....then you must also accept that it can be drawn against gays...

And maybe....just maybe....you might realize how the leftist-backed gay movement is bent on destroying society...

Yeah...so? They can also be changed back...just as quickly...

"NO" for the win.

Now get ready for pages of whining from people who, if they had won, would have told the other side to "deal with it".
