Wasn't it Dubya's Policy to get Troops out of Iraq?...

Actually, that's not really a fact either.

It wasn't a "policy" that was executed, it was a plan. And I doubt it was all Dubya's plan.

I'm glad you're learning something today.

U.S.-Iraq Status of Forces Agreement: This George Bush-signed agreement with the Iraqi Government requires all U.S. Forces to be out of Iraq by December 31,2011.

I know Hopey Changey will try and take credit when this withdrawal happens too but this is a George Bush-signed agreement with the Iraqi Government. This is not an Obama plan.

There is something to be said about it happening 17 months ahead of schedule and the money we saved there. What do you suppose the chances of this happening were if Bush was still President?

Policies don't win wars chumley.

Strategies do.

So whose devised and executed the strategy to deliver on the timeline?

And Obama is simply Executing that Plan?...

Am I Misremembering HIStory?...

The Surge was Sucessful and Barry has done nothing of Note that was out of Line with (43)'s Policies in Iraq, so...

Barry's not going to try to take Credit for this, is he?...

If you will recall your history, you will see that every president had a plan to bring the troops home and get us out of war. It is those presidents that actually do it that get the credit, not those that had plans to do so. It was Truman that got credit for ending WWII, not Roosevelt. It was Nixon who is credited with ending the Viet Nam war not Johnson.

Wasn't it Dubya's Policy to get Troops out of Iraq?...

Who knows.

Remember the reasons we went in? There were four, one after another.

1. Iraq's connection to al Qaeda, which of course was dis proven.

2. WMD's, which of course were never found.

3. "Freedom Agenda" in the Middle East, only that is now a laugh.

4. Saddam misused the "Food for oil" scam.

The whole "inspector" thing never was an issue since we had to wait a week to invade because the inspectors that supposedly were never allowed into Iraq had to get out of Iraq before we COULD invade.

So who knows what the "plans" were?

I feel so bad for the Iraqi women. Under Saddam they could file for divorce, work, attend school, teach, become doctors, nurses, lawyers.

The wore Western Style clothes and make-up.

Now, all those rights are gone. They live in Burkas. Can't go outside without a male escort. Can't go to school. Have no health care. They've become "slave" and we did that to them. No wonder Iraq hates our guts. They can thank the Republicans.

It's not a "Policy" or "Plan." It's a legal & binding contractual agreement signed by George Bush and the Iraqi Government back in 2008. Under this agreement, all U.S. Troops are required to be out of Iraq by December 31,2011. It's a legal & binding contract. It's not just a "Policy" or "Plan." Man,Hopey Changey sheep really are so Bleepin stupid. SHEESH!

Yes, you are misremembering history.

Up until mid 2008 the Bush Admin refused to make "timetables" for getting out of Iraq. When it became perfectly clear to anyone with a half a brain that even the Dems couldn't manage to lose the White House in November, Bush allowed the "time horizon" plan to go through. They used the term "time horizon" because they and their media attack dogs had painted themselves into a corner by viciously attacking support for a timetable as "support for the terrorist." However, they also knew the war was going to be "ended" by the next admin and they wanted to beat them to the political punch so people like you could claim that this was actually Bush's plan along ... and voila, time horizon. Make no mistake about it, if McCain had any kind of a chance at winning or if Bush could have run for, and won third term, there is no way that "time horizon" would have come to pass.

pure conjecture and a fabrication of history

iraq was calling on bush to set a more firm date, bush, wisely refused to set a firm date knowing this emboldens the enemy...in fact, iraq's president has stated that attacks were on the uptick a few months ago because of the absolute timeline of obama...

BAGHDAD, Aug. 13 -- U.S. troops raiding a warehouse in the northern city of Mosul uncovered a suspected chemical weapons factory containing 1,500 gallons of chemicals believed destined for attacks on U.S. and Iraqi forces and civilians, military officials said Saturday.

Monday's early morning raid found 11 precursor agents, "some of them quite dangerous by themselves," a military spokesman, Lt. Col. Steven A. Boylan, said in Baghdad.

Combined, the chemicals would yield an agent capable of "lingering hazards" for those exposed to it, Boylan said.

What is wrong with you? 1,500 gallons of a suspected chemical will fill a large Jacuzzi and that's enough to cost 4,000 American lives, a trillion dollars and 30,000 maimed? You can't be serious.

Yes, chemical agents (WMDs) were found, contrary to what you said: "WMD's, which of course were never found."

You're absolutely right! I remember that whole 'horizon' thing now. The weasel word for timetable.
