What does this have to do with OUR national defense? Do you feel the same way about muslims that kill the nationals of host countries, or even their own nationals? If a Saudi kills an Afghan in Philadelphia are we at war with Saudi Arabia or Afghanistan?

The United Kingdom is one of our closest- and most valuable allies- and has been since World War 2.

Russia used chemical weapons to attack persons on the soil of the UK and clearly believed that they could do so with no consequences.

An attack on the Great Britain that has no response will tell Russia that they can do the same thing to other U.S. allies or in the United States.
