Was Eric Cantor was one of the losers last night

You are uninformed. Educate yourself on the subject, then come back and I will perhaps thread with you.

On the Left, Seeing Obama Giving Away Too Much, Again

http://www.nytimes.com/2013/01/02/u...y-obama-squandered-his-tax-leverage.html?_r=0

A few people on the left are complaining that Obama "gave away too much".

Enough Congressmen on the right are complaining that Boehner "gave away too much" that they might even vote him out as Speaker.

Now, again:

How did the Republicans "win"?

That is dumb.

Republicans wanted to protect 100% of taxpayers from tax increases.

After fierce negotiation, they were able to protect 99.4% of us, and made them permanent.

Oh, and validated GWB on the policy.

Oh, and took away Obama's annual demogogue tool so that can now gash him again on welfare spending.

Great day!

What about the "47%" that many republicans complain about? Don't the republicans want to increase their taxes so they pay?

That is one way to look at it.

The Republicans tried to save 100% of the people from tax increases, and only came up .6% short. So they won big, especially considering how Obama the Tool can no longer use it as his main tool.

Nice attempt at spin.

The Republicans wanted no tax increases.
The Democrats wanted tax increases on the richest 0.6%.

The end result:
Taxes were increased on the richest 0.6%.

How was this a Republican victory?

The end result is the Republicans got 99.4% of what they wanted.

Third grade math.

Can't hold the Bush tax cuts over anyone's head anymore ether, thats leverage for the next can kicking party due in what 60 days??

You guys are killing me! Obama was elated last night when he made the GOP look like the incompetent clowns that they are. He was thanking everyone for the victory. But just like you did before the election demolition of your boy, you will be convincing yourself that the GOP won for months....you are doing well...it is funny...

100 > 99.4

So how did the Republicans win?

100 % ?? well bet those folks between 250kand 400k incomes would disagree.

In reality nobody really made out,we will be right back to this point in a matter of a few weeks, wait for the cccccuuuuuts they are next.

Let's see.....The Speaker is telling people to F_ _ _ themselves, Obama is smiling all over himself, and on Morning Joe, Scarborough said the Republicans were "Rolled."

You and Grover can deny a tax increase for the wealthy all you want and claim a hollow victory. But Obama got what he wanted. But this will play out again in a couple weeks. I hope the Speaker tones his language down... The Koch Brother will still write their checks to the baggers....for a while.

Now that the fiscal cliff madness is out of the way -- precious little in terms of addressing the debt was accomplished, but who gives a flying fuck at this point, right? -- the drama in the GOP should be fascinating.

My biggest question coming of the election was what was going to become of the Tea Party wing. If Boehner is indeed forced out, and if Cantor is indeed escorted in, that means the House GOP is simply not going to go along with anything that Obama touches.

In other words, the polarization would get even worse, and even less would get done.

.

Obama's ratings are tanking and he enters his second term as a lame duck.

No wonder the pussy ran off to Hawaii and claimed he would never negotiate again.

LOL

Yet another post that is at odds with reality. Obama's approval rating has been climbing (and still is).
According to Real Clear his current approval is 53.4 (+11.4) up from 49.9 (+1.2) on October 16

According to Rassmussen his latest approval rating on Dec. 31 was 57% (+16) which is the highest he's received in a Rassmussen poll since June 10, 2009.

I for one don't believe that the fiscal cliff madness is "out of the way." The termonology may change a bit, but the debate (and the tactics) aren't likely to change very quickly.
