I selected "Yes" because the responsibility of vetting candidates belongs to us citizens and not the media. As for transforming America, for me the Democratic and Republican primary debates gave me the best understanding of where each candidate was coming from. During which I thought Obama was pretty clear in his belief in the expanded role of the government. At least that is why I didn't vote for him.

We were entitled to a better job from the media since for instance they looked into McCains' citizenship: the public sees that as an effort to vet. They (the public) therefore, have a reasonable expectation to rely on exposure of details, or answers to questions that only are forthcoming or revealed first to the media (like Watergate as an example); that is unless they expect to give up their constitutional responsiblities to the "new media.

You and I are entitled to no such thing. The Supreme court ruled that Fox is entitled to fire its reporters if they do not lie on behalf of thier employer. That ruling was precident that applies to all media.

That's your interpretation of the decision for an employer (albeit a Fox News affiliate) to not allow a couple of rogue employees to air on a local TV station whatever they chose without proof of sources to the company they worked for; and are you even really certain that ruling was by the US Supreme Court? Source on that?

No 1 is properly vetted by the media. The media is not interested in the common good, only ratings.

A politician that tries to do right by the people (more cops on the street, street in good repair, etc.) is ignored. But the politician that finds the issue that energizes their base is successful, because people get passionate about some issues while others are boring. The media doesn't help here, they are all about the sensationalism. There are no "fact check" police. The media can say or do anything it pleases without concern.

Well--we certainly know the answer to that now. Socialism is what he meant by fundamentally transforming the United State of America. Most people missed or didn't understand the comment he made to Joe the Plumber--but I did--and it SPELLED socialism.
