President George W. Bush supported the $700-billion Wall Street bailout. That is socialism. He ran and got elected as a REPUBLICAN. Can someone explain how we can trust others on the same media circus (weather left or right)
And if not, may I suggest you read People VS media and get involved?

Why the fuck does this "bush was a liberal" shit still exist?

Those same fucking people are the first to defend him every time with a "boooooooooooosh" accusation.

It's just a hesitant scapegoat to eschew problems away from American Conservatism.

"Big government" is neither intrinsically liberal nor intrinsically socialist, and Bush demonstrated this fact well.

Bush was a corporate liberal.

Let's remove 8 zeros and pretend it's a household budget:

Annual family income: $21,700.
Money the family spent: $38,200.
New debt on the credit card: $16,500.
Outstanding balance on the credit card: $142,710
Total budget cuts: $385.

Does this clarify my positition?
LOL! I love your signature

Wrong on both counts. The essence of libertarianism/conservativism is small government. On the other hand, liberalism is a grab bag of rationalizations for justifying bigger government. Furthermore, socialism and small government are mutually exclusive.

Was Bush a liberal socialist?

No he was a tool for the insiders.

I suppose one could stretch the meaning of the words liberal socialist if one doesn't give a fug what those words REALLY mean.

That is, after all, what the right wings cranks do all day long here.

They reinvent word meanings based on some ignorant shit the talking heads tell them.

How soon they forget how overjoyed the Ultra Right Wing Conservatives were that Bush was elected over that RINO McCain and then re-elected to boot.

Sorry. You guys are stuck with Bush. He showed us what a URW Conservative really is and what their policies can do.

Bush was the conservatives vision for America. A bankrupt government, a country constantly at war, a division of people into 2 classes (The insanely wealthy and the abject poor), lax regulations, low taxes and a rise of theocracy.

He wasn't elected the first time by popular vote. He was put into power by winning a court case.

Oops. My bad. You're right about the Conservative dream POTUS.

There was a Republican majority in the congress from January 1995 till January 2007. You might think he could get anything he wanted during that period.

I might mention that the minimum wage stayed exactly the same during that period and one of the first things the Democratic congress did in the 2007-2008 time frame was raise it. Because of tax cuts and borrowed money to cover them the wealthiest 1% of taxpayers in this country quadrupled their wealth while ordinary American worker's wages stagnated when adjusted for inflation. That's why people are demonstrating.,,that and the aforementioned bailouts which are contrary to any stretch of the principals of capitalism.
