That's what FaceBook is: A Giant Intelligence gathering operation.

Why have spies when you can just create a "Social Network" where everyone voluntarily puts all their information up for the world to see (and gather)?

Sorta like when The Simpsons' Mr Burns sold his Nuclear Powerplant and bought a Casino. He tells Smithers: "Look! People come in, willingly empty their pockets and leave. It's the perfect business!"

I hope people know to never give their private information like passwords or SS numbers or anything like that over the internet with scams that say your account will be closed or they need to update your account. These always go to a false internet site and no legitimate company will ask for this information from you in this way.

And Facebook being an intelligence gathering operation-only in paranoid world.
