OK.....so this is beating a dope when he's down....but....I do it just to make stupidity painful.

A while back I read Hiroo Onoda's biography...."Hirō "Hiroo" Onoda (小野ē”° åƛ郎 Onoda Hirō, 19 March 1922 ā€“ 16 January 2014) was an Imperial Japanese Army intelligence officer who fought in World War II and was a Japanese holdout who did not surrender in August 1945. After the war ended Onoda spent 29 years holding out in the Philippines ..."
Hiroo Onoda - Wikipedia

Held out for 30 years...after the war was over!!!!
Can you imagine the jokes at his expense when he got home????
Which brings us to the dopes still believing 'Global Warming.'

1.Newsweek Mag, 1975: ā€œThere are ominous signs that the Earthā€™s weather patterns have begun to change dramatically and that these changes may portend a drastic decline in food production ā€“ with serious political implications for just about every nation on Earth. The drop in food output could begin quite soon, perhaps only 10 years from now. The regions destined to feel its impact are the great wheat-producing lands of Canada and the U.S.S.R. in the North, along with a number of marginally self-sufficient tropical areas ā€“ parts of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Indochina and Indonesia ā€“ where the growing season is dependent upon the rains brought by the monsoon.

The evidence in support of these predictions has now begun to accumulate so massively that meteorologists are hard-pressed to keep up with it.ā€ Newsweek on the cooling world

2. Even earlier, 1958: Betty Friedan- ā€œā€¦the glacial thermostat, the present interglacial stage is well advanced; the earth is now heading into another Ice Age. Certain signs, some of them visible to the layman as well as the scientist, indicate we may have been watching an Ice Age approach for some time without realizing what we were seeing.ā€ The Coming Ice Age | Harper's Magazine - Part 8

Today, we hear the total oppositeā€¦.and with absolute certainty.

3. On January 25, 2006........

... while at the Sundance film festival, "politicians and corporations have been ignoring the issue for decades, to the point that unless drastic measures to reduce greenhouse gases are taken within the next 10 years
the world will reach a point of no return, Gore said." 2006: Al Gore Does Sundance

BTW...in 1988, Ted Danson crowed that we had only ten years to save the oceans.

16 Democrat AGs Begin Inquisition Against ā€˜Climate Change Disbelieversā€™

ā€¦in 1478, the Spanish Inquisition systematically silenced any citizen who held views that did not align with the kingā€™s. Using the powerful arm of the government, the grand inquisitor, Tomas de Torquemada, and his henchmen sought out all those who held religious, scientific, or moral views that conflicted with the monarchā€™s, punishing the ā€œhereticsā€ with jail sentences; property confiscation; fines; and in severe cases, torture and execution.

ā€¦ New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman said, ā€œThe bottom line is simple: Climate change is real.ā€ He went on to say that if companies are committing fraud by ā€œlyingā€ about the dangers of climate change, they will ā€œpursue them to the fullest extent of the law.ā€

Hiroo Onoda....where are you?????

Yep, youā€™re spot on. Climate change has been a popular ā€œletā€™s panicā€ topic for decades. Iā€™m not sure why it got legs this time, probably social media. I am certain it didnā€™t get legs based on science and logic. That much I know for sure.

Bucky, I don't believe it has 'legs.'

No one still believes it....at least no one with over a double digit IQ....

"New Gallup Poll: Americans do not even mention global warming as a problem ā€“ 36 ā€˜problemsā€™ cited, but not climate

According to the latest Gallup poll, NOBODY thinks global warming is our most important problem, contrary to what NRCM, Audubon and CLF sock puppets tell us."
New Gallup Poll: Americans do not even mention global warming as a problem ā€“ 36 ā€˜problemsā€™ cited, but not climate

Hence, the 'phonebooth' mentioned in the title.

5. Seems to be all sorts of fascists in that campā€¦ā€¦no disagreements allowed.

ā€¦against so-called climate change deniers.

ā€œThis matter has been discussed. We have received information about it and have referred it to the FBI to consider whether or not it meets the criteria for which we could take action on,ā€ Lynch said at a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on Justice Department operations.ā€ AG Lynch: DOJ Has Discussed Whether to Pursue Civil Action Against Climate Change Deniers

Their motto, it seems, is "You vil learn to obey orduz!!!"

6. Donā€™t ever forget the rule of politics: whatever the Left claims about the other side, thatā€™s what the Left is guilty of.

"Bill Nye, ā€˜The Jail-The-Skeptics Guy!ā€™: Nye entertains idea of jailing climate skeptics for ā€˜affecting my quality of lifeā€™

Bill Nye, ā€œthe science guyā€, revealed he is openly favorable to the idea of jailing ā€˜global warmingā€™ skeptics at the Hague as ā€œwar criminals.ā€ Nye was confronted with environmental activists Robert F. Kennedyā€™s call to jail climate skeptics for treason and lock them up at the Hague. See: Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Wants To Jail His Political Opponents ā€“ Accuses Koch Brothers of ā€˜Treasonā€™ ā€“ ā€˜They ought to be serving time for itā€™

Nye openly pondered the idea that climate skeptics deserve jail. Climate Hustleā€™s Marc Morano asked Nye in an exclusive interview, ā€œWhat is your thought on jailing skeptics as war criminals?ā€

Morano: ā€œWe interviewed Robert F. Kennedy Jr. RJK Jr., the environmentalists. He said climate ā€˜deniersā€™, his words, Energy CEOā€™s belong at the Hague with three square meals and a cot with all of the other war criminals. What is your thought on that and do you think some of the rhetoric on your side ā€” as I am sure both sides ā€” gets too carried away. What is your thought on jailing skeptics as war criminals?ā€ Bill Nye, ā€˜The Jail-The-Skeptics Guy!ā€™: Nye entertains idea of jailing climate skeptics for ā€˜affecting my quality of lifeā€™ (Exclusive Video)

Disagree with the Left????

7. ā€œ95% of Climate Models Agree: The Observations Must be Wrong
95% of Climate Models Agree: The Observations Must be Wrong Ā« Roy Spencer, PhD

ā€¦ the recent (15+ year) pause in global average warmingā€¦when did it start, is it a full pause, shouldnā€™t we be taking the longer view, etc.

These are all interesting exercises, but they miss the most important point: the climate models that governments base policy decisions on have failed miserably.

Iā€™ve updated our comparison of 90 climate models versus observations for global average surface temperatures through 2013, and we still see that >95% of the models have over-forecast the warming trend since 1979, whether we use their own surface temperature dataset (HadCRUT4), or our satellite dataset of lower tropospheric temperatures (UAH)ā€

95% of the Warmist predictions wrong????

Wellā€¦.gee, letā€™s make it public policy then.

8.The surest sign of ignorance is the use of that ā€˜ 98% of scientists agree with Global Warmingā€™ falsehoodā€¦.

It is even more proof of duncehood than having an ā€œObama/Bidenā€ bumper sticker.

ā€œā€¦ where did that famous ā€œconsensusā€ claim that ā€œ98% of all scientists believe in global warmingā€ come from? It originated from an endlessly reported 2009 American Geophysical Union (AGU) survey consisting of an intentionally brief two-minute, two question online survey sent to 10,257 earth scientists by two researchers at the University of Illinois. Of the about 3.000 who responded, 82% answered ā€œyesā€ to the second question, which like the first, most people I know would also have agreed with.

The first: ā€œWhen compared with pre-1800s levels, do you think that mean global temperatures have generally risen, fallen, or remained relatively constant?ā€

The second question asked: ā€œDo you think human activity is a significant contributing factor in changing mean global temperatures?ā€

Then of those, only a small subset, just 77 who had been successful in getting more than half of their papers recently accepted by peer-reviewed climate science journals, were considered in their survey statistic. That ā€œ98% all scientistsā€ referred to a laughably puny number of 75 of those 77 who answered ā€œyesā€. That Scientific Global Warming Consensus...Not!

77 out of 10,257 becomes 98%.

Yupā€¦figures donā€™t lie, but liars can figure.

9. Ohā€¦.BTWā€¦.

ā€œSince 1998, more than 31,000 American scientists from diverse climate-related disciplines, including more than 9,000 with Ph.D.s, have signed a public petition announcing their belief that ā€œā€¦there is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gases is causing or will, in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the Earthā€™s atmosphere and disruption of the Earthā€™s climate.ā€ Included are atmospheric physicists, botanists, geologists, oceanographers, and meteorologists.ā€ Ibid.

This came from Monckton,

"But thereā€™s a consensus of expert opinion. All those general-circulation model ensembles and scientific societies and intergovernmental agencies and governments just canā€™t be wrong.

Yes They Can. In suchlike bodies, totalitarianism prevails (though not for much longer). For them, the Party Line is all, and mightily profitable it is ā€“ at taxpayersā€™ and energy-usersā€™ expense. But the trouble with adherence to the Party Line is that it is a narcotic substitute for independent, rational, scientific thought. The Party Line replace the heady peril of mental exploration and the mounting excitement of the first glimmer of a discovery with a dull, passive, cringing, acquiescent uniformity.

Worse, since the totalitarians who have captured academe ruthlessly enforce the Party Line, they deter terrorized scientists from asking the very questions it is the purpose of scientists to ask. It is no accident that most of my distinguished co-authors now live and move and have their being furth of the dismal scientific establishment of today: for if we were prisoners of that grim, cheerless, regimented, unthinking, inflexible, totalitarian mindset we should not have been free to think the thinkworthy. For these malevolent entities, and the paid or unpaid trolls who mindlessly support them in comments here regardless of the objective truth, punish everyone who dares to think what is to them the utterly unthinkable and then to utter the utterly unutterable. Several of my co-authors have suffered at their hands. Nevertheless, we remain unbowed."

10. ā€œAfter Hurricane Katrinaā€¦.we were told that hurricanes were going to be even stronger and more regular occurrences, because of science, and in this case climate change. When there wasnā€™t another category 3 or above that hit the United States for 12 years, we heard nothing from the Mr. Wizards because there was nothing they could say that would do anything but remind people of their false predictions.ā€

ā€œUS in Longest 'Hurricane Drought' in Recorded Historyā€ US in Longest 'Hurricane Drought' in Recorded History

Get this: the Liberals at the Washington Post tried to talk their way around the flub this way: ā€œIn 2015, Timothy Hall and Kelly Hereid used a model to estimate that a decade-long U.S. major hurricane landfall drought can be expected roughly every two centuries,ā€¦ā€™ Analysis | With Harvey and Irma, America's luckiest streak of low hurricane activity is over

"...every two centuries,..."

Of course, no real weather keeping has been kept before about the mid-19th centuryā€¦.about 150 years.

And, caught with their predictions in total error never stopped the windbags: ā€œā€¦astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson said Sunday that, in the wake of devastating floods and damage caused by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma, climate change had become so severe that the country "might not be able to recover." You are truly stupid because what Politicalchic pointed out doesn't contradict the chart you posted, since the warming trend is actually LOWER than the MODELED rate, which means your retort was dead on arrival.

Your stupidity is even worse when you finally realize that the PER DECADE warming rate on your chart is .13C/ decade, while modeled rates are often ABOVE .30C/decade.
