Warm again in the Arctic

The cold has moved south..........its actually quite common. Ive posted up several links on this already. But...........boring.:bye1:
Why, yes, it has. And the warmth normal to the south has moved north, and is decreasing the freezeup, and, occasionally, even melting some of the ice in the dead of the polar night. That is not usual. It is caused by the increase in waviness and slowing of the jet stream due to the warming of the Arctic, and the vast increase in open water there in the summer.

Her own DATA shows the movement to be MOSTLY in the NORTHERN extensions of those waves, not the Southern extensions. AND --- the rate of southern movement in those waves was something link 1.2 miles/decade. BUT she only looked at about 30 years of data. That's not a Climate Timescale type of analysis.

And how long has the extreme melt of the Arctic Ice been in progress? It was after 2000 that we began to see the really rapid melt of the Arctic Sea Ice.

Evidence of Arctic Warming

Comiso’s new study presents some striking trends. When compared to longer- term, ground-based surface temperature data, the rate of warming in the Arctic from 1981 to 2001 is eight times larger than the rate of Arctic warming over the last 100 years. There have also been some remarkable seasonal changes. Arctic spring, summer, and autumn have each warmed, lengthening the seasons when sea ice melts by 10 to 17 days per decade. Temperatures increased on average by almost one and a quarter (1.22) degrees Celsius (C) per decade over sea ice in the Arctic summer. Conversely, Arctic winters cooled from the 1980s to the 1990s. The study finds that winters were almost 1 (0.89) degree C cooler per decade.

Where is this warming?

Right now,
Barrow 18F
Cape Lisburne airport 27F
Cape Billings 27F
Arctic Village Airport 5F
Trail Valley Airport 16F
Ajon Island 18F

Warm air coming in through the Bering Straight.

Most of those places ain't NEAR the Arctic. There's no airports in the Arctic Ocean..
I see. The north shore of Alaska, and the north shore of Siberia are not in the arctic. Nice to know. LOL

Well now, Jennifer Francis predicted this pattern, and the results of the pattern in 2012. That is five years ago. She definately hit the nail on the head. In the meantime, the denialists totally missed what was happening, as usual.

Hard to miss when you predict everything will happen....how hard do you think it would be to find that some other warmer predicted something else. You wackos just go to the one who guessed right and ignore the plethora who were wrong...

Its like playing craps and putting a chip on every space.. You still win if you ignore all that is lost..

I seem to recall Ms Francis being put forward here repeatedly as a significant expert and being denigrated by deniers left and right.
