War is obsolete

If you don't have a clear mission and reason for going to war, of course you would think the concept is obsolete. Hell the British proved that when they tried to push "Pax Brittanica" and got sucked into 5 little wars that ended up destroying their empire. Nothing new under the sun here.

so-called wars in Iraq (actually an insurgency) and Afg, Libya Exhibit 1.

And the war over the debt limit is a figment of our imaginations?

Looks like a 'take no prisoners' situation.

War is as ingrained in the human psyche as much as sex is.

So, you offer different terminology and that means war is obsolete? The dirty little secret is that liberals force Americans to fight on the enemy's terms. We have the greatest Military the world has ever seen and democrats force the Troops to go through the chain of command for permission to fire a shot or risk a charge of manslaughter if a civilian is killed by accident.

We also don't use horse cavalry in the main attack nor do we put our troops in napoleonic infantry squares on the battlefield nor do we use muskets.

War is alive and well. It's the tactics and strategy that has evolved.

Ginscpy, go back to your video game.

Wars of occupation and imperialism work just fine for big corporations.

The politicians don't care about the people who die on both sides, as long a BP shares are up?

Conventional war is just taking a vacation. When the US economic difficulties cause the military might to fade invasions and wars will begin to come back in vogue.
