The US should never get involved or promote the intervention into any domestic Arab struggle (Libya, Syria, Egypt, Yemen, wherever), whatever the cost; whatever the cause. We should always allow the domestic conflict to seek its own conclusion and balance, no matter the human cost. Only in that way can the US avoid allegations such as those implied here.

Why in Gods name did we even get involved in Libya? weren't we already fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan?

Hey, it takes a lot of cruise missiles to be worthy of a peace prize.

It looks to me like the Obama administration underestimated Gaddafis will, they thought a couple cruise missiles and some fighter jets would end this in a few weeks and we been there for 3 months now.

Not at all! Obama's war strategy was a success, the aftermath is a nightmare. The only difference between Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya, is we defeated the enemy EASILY and QUICKLY in all three countries, but only in Libya did we not invade the country and start a disastrous nation building campaign. We did exactly what we should have done if the goal was to destroy the current government and remove the current rulers from power. Cudos to Obama for realizing another nation building crusade would be a was of time, soldiers, money and American lives.

The strategy was an astounding success, however, radicals (which I argue are true Muslims) are taking over and unlike Gaddiff they are a threat to the US, the West and to a lesser extend Israel.
