War and Debt

It's never made sense to me to drop a bomb that cost maybe $100,000 to make on a target that cost maybe $50,000 to build... Not enough bang for the buck.

Maybe Capitalism has outlived its usefulness?

Now you're talking like a Marxist. Pass.
Just because Marx was wrong about the solution to Capitalism doesn't mean he was wrong in all his criticisms of it. For example, he thought capitalism became a revolutionary force after it emasculated government. A quick glance at the White House, Wall Street and Congress would seem to validate him on that point.

You think the US government has been emasculated? Really? Government debt just surpassed 100% of GDP. Jobs that require a government license have risen dramatically. The government is bigger than it's ever been.

You REALLY need to read Mises, Hayek, etc.

You need to read Audacity of Hope.

"But beyond coarse political calculation, and eagerness to satisfy his Wall Street backers, it’s plain enough that Obama is a quitter by nature.

"As someone joked bitterly last week, he turns up for a strip poker session already down to his shorts.

"In the crunch, the weapon he snatches from its scabbard is the white flag, which he flourishes brzenly at the bankers, the Pentagon, and America’s billionaires."
