Among other changes, one of the paragraphs added makes it clear that it is customary for such generals to submit their resignation, and in this case Trump accepted it. The paragraph also tries to cover for the paper’s poor reporting by insisting that the Trump team “provided contradictory versions” of the general’s situation — another fact not in the original story.

The fake news Breitbart article fails to mention that nowhere in WAPO's article do they say Trump fired anybody or forced anybody's resignation..

It was just another attempt to make trump look like a racist, and few will remember the exculpatory details, but only that "Trump fired the negro General"

That is their game, get a marginal story out there with their spin on it, then quietly change it a bit, then hope people only remember the initial screed, not the explanations and clarifications.

I still wouldn't call it "fake news" because there is a truth buried somewhere in the spin.
