The American Thinker, and written by an eye surgeon. Like a damn doctor knows donkey squat about finances. Doctors are notorious for being financially illiterate, this dude is no exception.

The whole cost argument. It ignores the reality that if everyone has single payer insurance nobody needs to pay insurance premiums. Even better, the loss reserves of currently operating insurance companies will no longer be needed. Nationalize those assets. For BCBS of California, that is over four billion dollars in reserves. Those reserves are NOT TAXED, shareholders derive NO BENEFIT, and when private insurance is history, they are no longer needed and should be confiscated by the State. That action alone will pay for single payer first few years.

The bill in Congress, it is financed by a tax increase on the top five percent, a tax on unearned income, and a tax on stock and bond transactions. Every single one of those taxes would actually IMPROVE THE ECONOMY. The top five percent save too much money and invest too little. Unearned income is currently taxed at a discount to earned income, which is absolutely about the dumbest damn thing a nation could ever do, encouraging speculation and punishing WORK. And a tax on stock and bond transactions, which for some damn reason is not currently taxed while buying a hamburger is, would decrease the speculation that is driving up prices on commodities from oil to corn.

Democratic National Committee chair Rep. Keith Ellison let the inconvenient truth slip at a party meeting in Minnesota last Wednesday that House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi is all about some single-payer healthcare.

The Daily Caller received exclusive video footage of the meeting which contradicts everything Pelosi sells to her constituents and the country that Democrats aren’t going for socialized medicine. Even Ellison feared revealing too much as he asked, “Is anybody taping me right now?”
