That is certainly true of the left.

The REAL left has never been in favor of gun control.
Gun control increases the risk of a police state, so REAL leftists have never supported that.
Could you imagine those protesting against the Vietnam war or for Civil Rights, and getting beat up and arrested by police, as then supporting gun control on top of everything else that was going wrong?

Nah, it's true of the US, that's why we sneer at each other so.

It has to be true that people in the US hate each other, or else we would have provided universal medical care and a nation wide risk pool for the poor or those with pre-existing medical problems, centuries ago.
The idea that you can't quit your job without losing your health care, is pretty much an attempt at slavery.
They only reason it is not out right slavery, is that employers don't even give the poor any health insurance coverage or access at all.
