Where religion and politics work hand in glove.

"To assist in the formation of sound public policy, we have established the WallBuilders' ProFamily Legislative Network. This arm of WallBuilders monitors and collects pro-family legislation from the various states in over a dozen different areas (e.g., marriage, abortion, education, public morality, gambling, parental rights) which we then make available to legislators and activists in other states at their request, thus enabling pro-family legislation to be introduced in states across America. We also support efforts by groups such as The National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) and Cornwall Alliance for the Stewardship of Creation that seek to provide principled Christian leadership in diverse policy areas, including a comprehensive call to civic responsibility and a call to truth on environmental stewardship.

WallBuilders is also a national leader in efforts to return local control to citizens through restraining renegade federal judges who too often impose their own arbitrary values on communities. David Barton has not only authored several works on this issue, he also addresses legal groups and has been sought out by federal and state legislators in their attempts to curb activist judges.

Combining both the educational and the public policy information, WallBuilders offers public presentations on a variety of topics ranging from our Godly heritage to what can be done to restore Biblical principles in our nation."

WallBuilders - Overview

This group is pulling a lot of strings in the current election. I thought they should come out in the daylight and be questioned by some of us.

The Air Force has suspended a training course for nuclear missile launch officers that used Bible passages and religious imagery to teach them about the ethics of war.

The course had apparently been taught by chaplains at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California for more than 20 years, but officials pulled the plug after an article from the liberal Web site Truthout.org appeared online last week.

The group obtained a PowerPoint presentation used in the course that referenced religious figures including Abraham, John the Baptist and Saint Augustine. The presentation also said that there are “many examples of believers engaged in wars in the Old Testament” and “no pacifistic sentiment in mainstream Jewish history.”

Dominionists goal is to make Christianity the state religion of the United States.

these people make me ROFLMAO aside from the fact that they're serious :ack-1:

They are serious. They are increasing in numbers of members and numbers of groups, they own a lot of media and they have a TON of money.

They are very influential in the POTUS election.

We should know who they are and what their goals are. Who would have thought that Bryan Fischer would be able to influence the GOP POTUS campaign enough so that a gay staff would have to resign?

I remember when The Air Force Academy was embroiled in that fiasco not too long ago. Following jesus was not mandatory BUT those who didn't were harassed. This is horrendous in a federal facility. Shameful.

COLUMBIA, SC - Cherry Hill Seminary denounces an assertion that Christianity is the only faith protected by the U.S. Constitution, made in a friend of the court (amicus) brief filed this week in the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. The brief is part of a years-long struggle by the Seminary Director of Chaplaincy, Rev. Patrick M. McCollum, to compel the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) to eliminate its discriminatory policies and practices.

The CDCR has argued before the court that Pagans are not deserving of equal civil rights.

In one of their first arguments to the court, the defendants said that certain"traditional"faiths are "first-tier faiths" which merited equal rights and protections under the U.S. Constitution. Faiths other than "Christianity, Catholicism and Judaism" were designated as "second-tier faiths," with no right to protection or accommodation. Islam and the Native American Church were later added to this list, hence the term "five-faiths policy."

The amicus filed this week in support of the CDCR is submitted on behalf of WallBuilders, Inc., an organization known for promoting a dominionist Christian Nation.

What makes them any different from any other special interest group? The fact that you can find all this information on them means they are already "in the daylight."

I dont see the big deal about this. The air force officers responsible for having to "turn the keys" should be taught ethics and duty. They are not being told to convert to a given religon, only the views of said religion on warfare mandated by the state.

Again, what is the big deal about this?

What makes them different is their goal, which is to make the United States a Christian theocracy.

If there was some communist group trying to take over the US, some people would wake up to that and stop them. It's happening right under our noses.

Fine, then form a group called " Wallbuilder's suck" and counter thier viewpoints, do counter rallys, etc.

Just to be clear, are you just trying to expose thier viewpoints, or are you of the persuasion that the government has to do something about them?

Certainly don't let reality shock you, but there actually are persons of faith in the military.

Shocking. I know.

I have no problem with there being people of faith in the military. I have a problem with the federal government funding ethics courses using Bible passages. It's a clear violation of the separation of church and state.

Too bad you can't tell the difference.

No, it is not. I suggest you look at the actual presentation given to the launch operators. The ethics taught quote zero - that is none, zip, nada - bible verses.

The article is wrong, yet you believed it without checking.

The chaplain THEN went on to discuss to the FAITHFUL how their participation in missile launches will not conflict with their faith. That is a chaplain's job - to advise those who have questions about their faith while in the military.

Already in the daylight but the media is pretty much afraid to bring their actions to the forefront.

I seriously doubt that. They start setting off the wrong trip wires, and the spot light will shine on them.

Pretty well reasoned. :)

It was a PowerPoint presentation presented by the chaplain. What do you expect?

If you had been in the military recently you would realize exactly how inane this is. We get briefings all the time from chaplains as well as presented with a thousand other resources for any religion that you can think of. They even hold regular Wiccan ceremonies at most bases.

Quite frankly, this is a case of the overly PC crowd flipping out about nothing. I should not be surprised.

Here is the actual presentation by the way, contained a few links deep in the citation:
