Walker raises more campaign money than all opponents combined

The best part about this news is that Walker has to raise money to fund an election. Usually, when a guy gets elected Governor, he does his job well enough to NOT GET RECALLED.

the unions and Dems were sore losers.

Just over 1,000,000 people signed the recall petitions. Curiously enough, that is almost the same number of people that did NOT vote for walker in the general election. So, Walker opponents gained no ground after seeing Walkers job performance.

Sour grapes is the only reason he was recalled.

The Dems and Unions have put the State through an expensive recall not to mention spending millions on same when all they had to do was wait for the next election. I'm sure they are sure he won't win either way.

I hope Walker wins in a landslide and the Dems and Unions all go broke. LOL

In tommorrow night's "Its Working!" State of the State address, Gov. Scott Walker is expected to brag about the only good thing that has happened in his first year: A miniscule drop in unemployment from 7.5% to 7.1%.

The problem with this "success" is that its no success at all-- in fact its a failure. The reality is that every state in the nation experienced a drop in their unemployment rate in 2011 and when we compare Wisconsin's reduction to other states, we were one of the worst, 41st worst to be exact.

As the Bureau of Labor Statistics table, in the video below shows, its definitely not working in Wisconsin:

Its NOT Working: In 2011, Wisconsin Ranked 41st in the Nation in Unemployment Reduction | Uppity Wisconsin

Econbrowser: Wisconsin Governor Walker: "We are heading in the right direction."
Tonight I'm happy to report that after three years of losing 150,000 jobs Wisconsin actually added thousands of new jobs in 2011. New business formations are up by over 2 percent. And our unemployment rate is down from a year ago.

In fact, Wisconsin’s unemployment rate is not only lower than the national average but much better than our neighbors to the south in Illinois.

Letter: Gov. Walker has improved Wisconsin | Fond du Lac Reporter | fdlreporter.com
Back in late 2010, when former Gov. Doyle was quietly packing his bags and leaving Madison, he left us all in a fiscal and moral mess.

The state's business climate had been soured to where job opportunities had tanked. He had people frantically designing a sort-of-fast train which had minimal projected usage, cost $810 million, would need millions in annual subsidies forever and would drop its passengers at the edge of Madison.

He had illegally transferred funds to pet agenda items, but had no plan to repay the $59 million owed to Minnesota. Wisconsin ended the year over $3,000,000,000 in the red!
Some facts listed there include: "For the first time in six years, school tax levies are down;" "budget protects health care coverage for seniors and the neediest families in the state;" "reforms end abusive overtime practices;" and "Tax dollars saved by reforms: $925 million."

Our state motto is "Forward" — do we really wish to go back? No! Let's stand with Walker!

Current Reforms and Results
The Kaukauna School District turned a budget deficit into a $2 million surplus by using the tools Governor Scott Walker provided in the Wisconsin budget. The district was able to reduce class sizes and avoid layoffs. They are now creating a merit pay program to reward the best teachers.

The Brown Deer School District used the tools provided in the state budget to balance their budget, and "put children first". Because they are saving on operating expenses, they are now proposing a referendum to pay for long-overdue school renovations.

The Fond du Lac School District made up a budget shortfall of more than $4 million following reforms requiring employees to pay part of their pension contributions.
Tax levy numbers for the 2011-12 school year show the total tax levy is down more than $47 million for K-12 schools.

Over the last five years the tax levy, on average, increased by $181 million each year. When compared to the status quo of the last five years, Governor Walker’s reforms are keeping an extra $228 million in Wisconsin property taxpayer’s pockets.

Governor Scott Walker’s budget turned a $3.6 billion state deficit into a surplus.

Under the Governor’s reforms, for the first time in 12 years, Wisconsin property taxes went down.

Since 1998, property taxes paid by homeowners have risen 43 percent. This year property taxes paid by the typical homeowner went down .4 percent. Without the Governor’s reforms the average homeowner would have paid an additional $700 over the biennium.

Under Act 10, state employee contributions to pension and health care saved taxpayers more than $308 million.

According to a survey by the Wisconsin Association of School District Administrators released by DPI:

• New teacher hires outnumber layoffs and non-renewals by 1,799 positions

• The three districts with the most teacher layoffs (Milwaukee, Kenosha, and Janesville) didn’t adopt the reforms put in place by Governor Walker. Those districts account for 68% of teacher layoffs for the entire state, but only contain 12.8% of Wisconsin students.

• 75% of districts have the same K-3 class sizes or are decreasing them

• 67% of districts have the same 4-6 grade class sizes or are decreasing them

• 78% of districts are keeping student fees the same or decreasing them

• 92% of districts are keeping sports programs the same or expanding them

According to the Legislative Audit Bureau, state agency overtime totaled $57.1 million in 2010. Governor Walker’s reforms end overtime abuse originally facilitated in a collective bargaining agreement in 1975.

For example, the Department of Corrections allowed correctional workers who call in sick to collect overtime if they work a shift on the exact same day.

Cost to taxpayers - $4.8 million in 2010 alone.

This benefit was previously protected by union contract.

In balancing the budget, Governor Walker paid off more than $800 million of debt left from the previous administration.

yeah... he sucks at his job, huh.

I think it matters a great deal.

Why would someone from Pennsylvania spend money on a Wisconsin campaign?

Right or left, where the money comes from matters.

ETA: Keep us updated on your Tardis build. cant wait to see the finished product. very cool.

I suppose all the out of state money that poured into the state to get him recalled mattered too?

Absolutely it did. The fact that out of state money pours into the states to decide local elections is a huge blow against states rights and the power of the vote, no matter if the money comes from the left or the right.

You will NEVER hear me advocating for the left to dump national funds into a local election. Its wrong no matter who is doing it.

No, not at all- if both ideologies have equal access- which they did. That said if democrats are willing to end the recall effort that was the product of out of state money, I am sure Walker would have no problem doing the same for his side.

The best part about this news is that Walker has to raise money to fund an election. Usually, when a guy gets elected Governor, he does his job well enough to NOT GET RECALLED.

The left wing dingbats were screaming for a recall of Walker from the time he set foot in office. They're just a bunch of sore losers.

I can't wait to hear how the democrat party is going to fix the problem without taxing the living shit out of all of us. We don't need more of dipshit Doyle's policies in this state.

And for those screaming about job losses in this state: most of those job loses were in Milwaukee. Guess who's in charge there?

Wow that was a lot of propaganda, yes Wisconsin is doing better but so is every state but Wisconsin is 41st.

you show me stats for all 49 other states, specific to the areas I quoted, showing ALL 49 improved and placing Wisconsin 41st in rank, or you're a complete liar and fraud.

This is exactly what is wrong with politics, Citizens United, Mitt Romney, Scott Walker and the Republicans being in bed with Corporations. The Robber Barons are back, or never left.

Fast forward to July 2011. At that time, a staunch Walker supporter, William Gardner, was sentenced in Milwaukee County Circuit Court for two felony charges related to violations of campaign finance law. Gardner was the majority owner of Wisconsin and Southern Railroad, and during 2009 and 2010, he illegally funneled over $50,000 of company money to Walker's campaign through railroad employees.

Where did the money come from is the question.

Corporations that are benefiting from Wisconsin GOP legislation.

and where did the money for the recall push come from? unions who benefited from Democratic legislation.

Your point?

All the money Scott Walker is raising is coming from outside the state. ALEC

The Robber Barons' Party: Let's Bring Tea

Shall we have a government of, by, and for We, the People? Or shall we be governed by a powerful elite made up of the super-rich, multi-national corporations, and well-paid shills who do their bidding?

Wisconsin Democrats Call For Investigation Of Scott Walker Legal Defense Fund

Wisconsin Democrats Call For Investigation Of Scott Walker Legal Defense Fund

Walker has said he is using the fund to cooperate with the "John Doe" investigation of his time as Milwaukee county executive. He recently moved $60,000 to the fund to pay his defense lawyers.

Mike Tate, the chair of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin, says state law permits Walker to set up such a fund only if he is charged or under investigation for election or campaign violations, and says Walker should clarify if those provisions apply to him.

$60,000.00 ??? hopefully for Walker that is enough to stop the leak.

If walker prevails Romney is likely to win Wisconsin. Money is coming in from all over the country, this is an important election, unions or the tax payers

The issue is, if the unions can import money from other states then why can't Walker. If you don't like outside money...change the rules, but realize, without union influence from out of state, the recall would never happen.

Obama widens lead over Romney in Wisconsin, poll suggests - POLITICO.com

A new poll out from Marquette University suggests President Barack Obama has widened his lead over Mitt Romney in Wisconsin.

Obama is ahead 51-42 in the state, up from 48-43 in March. At the same time, the president's job approval rating inched up slightly from 48 percent to 50 percent.

Walker may or may not influence the national election.

* were Walker to lose the Rs might take it out on Obama.
