Recall challengers' combined campaign cash pales to Walker's total

All of the candidates hoping to challenge Gov. Scott Walker in the upcoming recall election raised a combined total of about $2 million, less than one-sixth of the $13.2 million that flowed into Walker's campaign war chest during the most recent reporting period.

"You don't see too many candidates have 25 times more than their challengers," said Mike McCabe, executive director of the campaign finance watchdog group Wisconsin Democracy Campaign. "But nothing about these recalls is normal."

Where did the money come from is the question.

doesn't matter. A fair portion of Walkers money came from out of state, which is perfectly legal, right up until the date for the recall election is officially set, and then he could no longer accept outside money. Also, all candidates are taking advantage of outside groups, as shown in the linked piece. Trouble for Walker opponents is, fewer groups are supporting his opponents.

I think it matters a great deal.

Why would someone from Pennsylvania spend money on a Wisconsin campaign?

Right or left, where the money comes from matters.

I believe I heard on the Jerry Bader Show that was a national record for ANY state political office in history.

I suppose all the out of state money that poured into the state to get him recalled mattered too?

The left never worries about out of state union money or university money or George Soros' money.... booga booga! George Soros!

Good.

All perfectly legit. Considering what the Unions (many from out of state) are dumping into this, Governor Walker has the right to counter it.

BTW: You give the outside dimensions on your TARDIS project, but what are the INSIDE dimensions?:lol::lol:

Absolutely it did. The fact that out of state money pours into the states to decide local elections is a huge blow against states rights and the power of the vote, no matter if the money comes from the left or the right.

You will NEVER hear me advocating for the left to dump national funds into a local election. Its wrong no matter who is doing it.

two wrongs dont...blah blah blah...you know the rest. And yes, when the left does it, its still wrong.

... the most recent reporting period.

is there a Grand Total ???

13.2 million is and is not a lot of money, may not be enough to buy it.

Not to mention, these numbers don't take into account how many millions the unions are going to spend on independent expenditures (Thanks, Citizen's United).

Yeah, right. That's why all you turds never complain about it until a Republican gets out-of-state money.

The best part about this news is that Walker has to raise money to fund an election. Usually, when a guy gets elected Governor, he does his job well enough to NOT GET RECALLED.

Naturally, it will be bigger on the inside ;)
