They are all running from both parties but have nowhere to go, trapped by their own dogma that there are only 2 options and they must pick one.

That is only the uninformed/uneducated, though.

Conservatives:

• Christian Liberty Party

Liberals:

• Democrat Party
• Green Party
• Communist Party USA
• Democratic Socialists of America
• Socialist Democrats USA
• Socialist Workers Party

Sure seems like a shit-ton more than "two parties" to me. And that's not even close to being a comprehensive list. The total number of actual parties in the United States is probably somewhere around 40 to 50.
