Wake up people!

Oh...a libertarian. :eusa_whistle:

I am a fiscal conservative/libertarian/social liberal.
I was against TARP and GM bailout.
I was against the Iraq war.
I am for a balanced budget.
I am for a flat personal income tax with no deductions.
I am for Gay marriage.
For the death penalty.
For reasonable gun regs but not banning.
etc.

LOL, no I am not an embaressed Republican that voted for Bush twice. They are mostly tea baggers now.

Agreed ... but what can be changed? The ones with all of the power use it to keep themselves in power.

What can be changed? we can.

We can choose to live a life of self government. We can choose to eliminate corruption in our lives and help others do to same. We can teach our children Just and Holy Principle by which to live and act.

We can be the change we want in the world. The power truly is in the people. The politicians can only exercise power over us when we refuse to exercise it ourselves.

I'm with you on all of the above except I'd need to know what you mean by 'reasonable gun regs'.

People that are involuntarially comitted becuase they are by definition a danger to themselves or others should not really have guns.

Aren't there gun control laws in place for people who are mentally unstable?

In some states.
Not in my state. And no federal law that removes their guns while unstable, just prevented from purchasing more.

Back to the OP, yeah there are a lot of pols who are more interested in doing what's best for themselves and the special interests that support them than they are in doing what's best for the country. It's on us to weed 'em out and bring in somebody else, but so far we aren't doing much of that. So, you get the gov't you deserve.

We passed that in Virginia, hopefully it will eventually become national law as for the rest there are so many ineffective and un-effective gun laws, mostly based on past political knee jerk reactions that most need to be culled.

IMO, that's a slippery slope. How does the government determine who is mentally unstable? I suppose if a couple doctors make that determination, they could be bound to report it to the State. Family should certainly intervene if a person is suicidal or is considering voting for Obama and store the person's guns in a safe place.

Some people do things on an issue by issue basis. I might agree with some guy about some things but agree with the other guy about something else. I can only vote for one so I have to pick what matters most to me at the time. Its a very flawed system for those who are involved, educated and passionate about issues. I find it hard to believe that any one person represents the exact same views and ideals of any other person.

I have voted both parties. And even voted for Ross Perot. Too bad he did not win, things migh be different now if he had.
Me too.

I voted for Perot in '92. He got 19% of the popular vote and 0 Electoral votes. I realized then something was seriously wrong with our Electoral process.

Aren't you a lib???

You are trying to destroy this country.

Explain why Obama wants to raise taxes in a recession....kills more jobs.

Explain why Obama wants to keep spending like a drunken sailor after breaking records in 2 years with his spending.....destroy the entire system.

Explain why Obama wants 10-14 MILLION uneducated/unskilled workers to become Americans after breaking our laws.....undermine everything we've built up.

A socialist that doesn't like our system will do everything to destroy the USA from within and that is what he is doing. He has not thrown out 1 idea on how to fix this mess besides give him more taxes and let him spend more fucking money.

Yet, you come here asking why we're mad?

I did say Baker Acted which means they have been determined by professionals to be unstable.

Just a passing notice that you use the term 'my' alot in your political statements (eg: my state, my country) rather than 'our' (eg: our state, our country).
Methinks the concept of 'a greater good' is foreign to you.
You would make a sterling dictator, but not a benevolent one. :eusa_whistle:
