when will this madness end? can any obama supporter give me ONE valid reason why they are voting for him?? without mentioning change? he wants to get rid of the need for oil within 10 years?? do you realize how many products are made from oil? you libs wouldn't be able to drive your overpriced hybrids if there wasnt oil which is needed for APHALT. just to name one...

none of his ideas are new. its called socialism, and its never worked, read a history book.

you clearly dont know what youre talking about, and it sounds like youre just here as a troll.

i dont know what i'm talking about? you can site some quotes, wow that is earth shattering. why dont you educate me then? so what do you want to do destroy all government?

So apparently you have no reason to like him? Why not just provide the reasons and dispense with the name calling...his points are valid enough to be addressed.

I've never heard anyone say why they like him, either. All I've heard is that if anyone DOESN'T like him it's because he's black.

his points are valid? he comes in here and says stuff while providing no sources to back up what he says. see the bolded latin in my sig?

if he wanted to debate he would give some sources. but i guess youre right, i dont like him, because he looks like a troll. (thats not simple name calling, it is a descriptive term for people who write inflammatory posts on a message board). he can prove me wrong. the only reason you support him is because you like what he says

what quotes did i site? the burden of proof is on you. so back up what you said

And you still haven't given one reason for voting for Obama. I don't think his post is inflammatory at all. You think it's inflammatory because it makes you uncomfortable. But asking uncomfortable questions that you can't answer doesn't make him a troll.

im undecided, which i have said before. so i cant say why i'm voting for him, because i dont know if i am.

makes me uncomfortable, huh? if you believe what he wrote is true, you need to do some serious research (savage's website doesnt count). here, ill even help.

socialism: An economic system in which the basic means of production are primarily owned and controlled collectively, usually by government under some system ...
countrystudies.us/united-states/economy-12.htm
is that what obama is advocating? NO

eliminate the need for oil? obama has NEVER said that. he said he wants to eliminate the need for middle eastern and venezuelan oil. go ahead, show me otherwise.

how is it inflammatory? because he is posting things without proof which are obviously meant to upset obama's supporters. THAT makes him a troll. deny it all you like, though, i know you will.

Obama, Democrats & Creeping Socialism in the U.S.
"During his NAACP speech earlier this month, Sen. Obama repeated the term at least four times. "I've been working my entire adult life to help build an America where economic justice is being served," he said at the group's 99th annual convention in Cincinnati.

Democrat Barack Obama arrives in Washington on Monday. On the campaign trail, Obama has styled himself a centrist. But a look at those who've served as his advisers and mentors over the years shows a far more left-leaning tilt to his background - and to his politics.

And as president, "we'll ensure that economic justice is served," he asserted. "That's what this election is about." Obama never spelled out the meaning of the term, but he didn't have to. His audience knew what he meant, judging from its thumping approval.

It's the rest of the public that remains in the dark, which is why we're launching this special educational series.

"Economic justice" simply means punishing the successful and redistributing their wealth by government fiat. It's a euphemism for socialism."

...
" Following this discredited Marxist model, he believes government must step in and redistribute pieces of the pie. That requires massive transfers of wealth through government taxing and spending, a return to the entitlement days of old.

Of course, Obama is too smart to try to smuggle such hoary collectivist garbage through the front door. He's disguising the wealth transfers as "investments" - "to make America more competitive," he says, or "that give us a fighting chance," whatever that means.

Among his proposed "investments":
"Universal," "guaranteed" health care.
"Free" college tuition.
"Universal national service" (a la Havana).
"Universal 401(k)s" (in which the government would match contributions made by "low- and moderate-income families").
"Free" job training (even for criminals).
"Wage insurance" (to supplement dislocated union workers' old income levels).
"Free" child care and "universal" preschool.
More subsidized public housing.
A fatter earned income tax credit for "working poor."
And even a Global Poverty Act that amounts to a Marshall Plan for the Third World, first and foremost Africa. "

wow, you can post an opinion article, which you complain about when other people do that. and guess what? come closer. closer. UNDER BUSH AND THE REPUBLICAN CONGRESS THE WEALTHY STILL HAD HIGHER TAX RATES THAN THE POOR. the article is complaining about little more than the wealthy having higher taxes, and that has existed under libs and cons. try again to show these sweeping changes obama will implement to turn us all into the evil socialists. free college? when was that said? universal coverage? you mean his plan to allow everyone to afford insurance, where the hospitals would still be private? job training for criminals? you mean rehabbing them instead of having the revolving door prison system or simply killing them off or locking them up forever (which is expensive?) not worth my time to refute every little point

I don't like him because of his lack of experience in government and military institutions. I also don't like him because he is never clear about anything, often dodging tough questions, giving half-assed answers on other ones, which basically leaves me and everyone else confused as to what his plans actually are. All this is the result of inexperience.

Can you refute any of this?

Aside from you idiots being wrong about everything for the last 7 1/2 years?

Two words... Supreme Court....

Three more words... "rabid religious right"

none of his ideas are new. its called socialism, and its never worked, read a history book.

Blah blah blah blah blah blah... right wing talking points... blah blah blah blah blah blah....

He's still smarter than the shrub....

and we all know about Bush's "military experience"... so get a grip.

Way to refute anything I just said.

Face it - Obama is inexperienced, is confusing on the issues, and has perhaps the ugliest background a presidential candidate can have with all his connections. He is also naive with his diplomatic "solutions" and his war policies. He obviously has no idea what he is doing, besides reading off note cards his campaign writes for him.

And I am not talking about Bush, I am talking about McCain. This forum is "Elections 2008."

trying to pick a fight with me, eh? ;)

anyways, i wont refute them because they arent rediculous, obviously false, sweeping claims like the OP made. and btw, the never clear thing is the same reason why i am not a fan of his. to say it is the result of inexperience isnt true, because most politicans are vague in their answers (some can say nothing but make it sound like they said something a lot better than obama, though)

Maybe

So wait, you won't refute them because they are, or are not, ridiculous and false claims? I think you made a typo.

If so, then there is nothing false about my statement. He has almost zero experience, or at least nowhere near enough to qualify for presidency; on top of that he has never served this country. Granted, not every president has served in the military - but most have and in my opinion some type of service should be mandatory. I don't want my commander in chief to be clueless as to how to run the military.

You said nothing worth refuting... the fact is that you voted for someone twice who was an incompetent idiot. I don't have to agree with everything obama says. He isn't my first choice. It' irrelevant because McCain2008 is not McCain2000 and I wouldn't vote for him if he crawled across hot coals for my vote. In 2000 I would have.

And you can try to separate McCain from the imbecile, but he's more of the same same....he's just more respectable and less embarrassing. But from a policy standpoint? He's Bush lite...

sorry if you don't like acknowledging that.

typo? i dont see how you got confused. you really are trying to pick a fight

Well I am terribly sorry that you are unable to realize that Obama has almost no experience, no military service, offers up almost no solutions to our conflicts internationally and has a shady background- yes, everyone has a shady background, but none like Obama.

I don't care how terrible Bush was the past 8 years - that doesn't justify voting in someone who will be even worse. You're thinking about it in terms of replacing Bush because he was terrible, but all you are doing is voting someone else in who will create even more problems for us down the road.
